SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS

when 2G scam people got bail, there was so much of media coverage and welcome..why? were they coming out after doing something extraordinary.or patriotic or it was some achievement?

Why papers brand people..like two Bihari students nabbed..was there any necessity to write Bihari?..was the crime associated with their home town?

Why all the negative news and people are given front page and rest the last? why give publicity to bad people?

Why Neetu Chandra is a permanent feature in TOI page 3 everyday  ? is there any connection?..Now dont ask me who is that..thats what I wonder, because  she doesnt have much on her achievements list, still given all the space all the time.....

Why in any insurgent operation, media highlights that they were tracked because of informers?.why put them in danger?.and i thought informers were protected.

ANGRY TINY TOTS

Yes that was the title of the article in TOI...children are getting angry and aggressive at a very young stage and the reason specialists attribute it to is...parenting.or atleast it has the biggest role.

Today parents want to give children everything they couldnt get as a child, never thinking about what is good for them.

Parents pamper the children with things..in the process making them feel that things are most important in life.

And the kids are growing up to be self centred and materialistic and want to get everything fast and not with much efforts.

children should be taught from the beginning....
the value of restraint,
importance of hard work..that nothing comes free
Living within means..today people say that Indian economy is most resilient, then it is because of Indian habits of saving ,living within means, but if we adopt the habits of living like there is no tomorrow, or living on credit cards, we shall be there  sooner or later..in the recession....

SIBLINGS

Yesterday I was reading outlook money.my favourite magazine and there was an article by Sumana Mukherjee about financial inequality in siblings and its effect on relationships.

Earlier when there were many siblings, it was well nigh impossible for all of them to be in the same league, though today with one or two children its possible,.So is it possible to maintain cordiality without jealousy and sarcasm?

I think it is possible and for that everybody needs to be sensitive, not to his/her own feelings but for others. For those who are well off..they must restrain a little when with others, conversations shouldnt be all the time about acquiring things only, rather the time together should be spent in common interests.Never thrust your affluence in other's face....
And those not so well off, they need to develop some confidence that  their family loves them, and money doesnt make the life go round. They must learn to live happily within their means without expecting to get anything from siblings or grudging them their riches.

Life is all about perspectives....this is mine what about you?

MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN

The movie starts with a fight between Luv(Ali Jaffer) and his girl friend Piyali Patel in London and they break up after a long relationship of 5 years and then calls his brother Kush( Imran) in India to find him a girl, as he wants to marry and settle down. And the search starts and they find it is not so easy..Then thru some advt, they come across Dimple( katrina ) who  has lived in London all the time and is a total Bindaas girl who is misunderstood in India..both point of views are very good like...
in India any girl who is carefree and wears mini or Western clothes is considered easy and slut and everybody thinks that she could sleep with everyone.
Every country has its own culture and sensibilities and there is nothing wrong or right in them, but one has to either live accordingly or bear the consequences.
She is chosen and the preparation starts and suddenly it dawns on both..Kush and Dimple , that they are in love..and now the movie is all about their planning about getting each other in a respectable way.

The movies is good, Imran's understated acting always is so endearing and katrina has also done it very well, except a few places where she is over the top.
All in all worth a watch:)

Difficult Daughters...Manju Kapur

For a long time  I have been looking to read something by this writer and last week  when I went to Hyderabad and my friend told me that she had bought it, I was thrilled, I asked her to give it to me as i would finish it in two days.

This is a story of Veermati set in the Punjab before partition. Veermati belongs to a wealthy family with her grandfather and father both being Aryasamaji believe in educating the girls. And when she falls for her neighbour..and oxford educated professor who is already married with a child, some blame comes on education too.Everything is so natural and real here, the back ground, living style, language..everything..It shows that in earlier times children were married in the childhood, as the professor is and when he grows up into a well educated intellectual, he feels no compatibility with his wife, he tries to educate her, but she is not interested. And though in all other respects she is a good wife and daughter.inlaw, he feels deprived and falls for a young beautiful girl who is studying. So far so good, but if he lacked that feeling of companionship only why he lusts after her and makes an illicit relationship with her?..why couldnt he be satisfied with a platonic relationship only.and then he is not shown as a good father even, somewhere he abandons his family for the girl..Here he falls from my eyes, he is a very intelligent man, but not with a good character. The story is shown thru the eyes of Veermati.as it happens..
The description of joint families, how the girls were treated and how much families cared for good will and respect in the society.everything is shown as it was..very interesting read..after a long time I read something with real people and real characters

HAPPINESS?

Recently I read on Jyothi's blog..is everyone happy?..good question! Could we ever be happy forever?..Happiness is a very momentary feeling and whenever someone does something in accordance with our feelings we are happy. But all the time happy....quite a difficult task, as all the time we cant expect the world to behave to our liking..
But we can be at peace all the time if we detach ourselves a little with the results. We may do our duty and the right thing and then stop worrying about the results. Many people keep advising me that now that i have fulfilled my duties in life, I must live Bindaas, not worry about others and say and do what I like. And i shouldnt at all think about people younger to me but say the right thing. But that is not possible in a civilised society. We can never do anything if it might hurt others.Saying the right thing is also useful only if it makes any difference in a positive way.But then any relationship which cants sustain the truth or has no tolerance is not worth keeping also. And older people have more responsibilities in keeping the decorum and being kind, I dont like old people to be selfish, or manipulative or unkind as I feel that if not whole life, but now when we are so near to god, we can leave aside worldly temptations and may try to be a little saintly.we have enjoyed the life and done everything, now just be good.

I see so many people who try to show off as if they are the only good people and they do only good, but show them the mirror, they cant stand it.Truth is never easy to face, never easy to understand.

So many times I think that we must divide the life into phases and there must be a fixed time for shouldering the responsibilities and  for living free of obligations. According to me..

From birth to 20 years..this time should be fully devoted to education, children shouldnt be given any responsibilities.big or small, instead this time should be spent in building health, character and education only.

From 20-40..is time to indulge, make careers, and families and enjoy.and do whatevr you want to do with your life, build it in your own way.

40-60..This is the time for responsibilities, towards your family,,including parents, and society.

After 60..one must live.Bindaas...without any responsibility..neither of parents, nor children, do everything as you like, without any pressure.Because I feel, that atleast some time should be in life when you can live as an individual, in your own way..it is a dream for me.

What do you think?

Baby Pigeons

Baby Pigeons?
==============

Have you ever wondered why you don't see baby pigeons?

Have you ever wondered why pigeons spend so much time walking
when they could be flying?

Some of US spend so much time walking when we could be flying.

This is why you don't see Baby pigeons -

First of all, unlike other birds, pigeons hide their nests.
When they emerged in Asia, pigeons were cliff-dwellers.  Now
they build their messy nests of sticks inside the guts of
bridges, or atop tall buildings, or on top of your air
conditioner.

Also, pigeons are very protective and babying parents.  They lay
only two eggs at a time, and spoil those babies shamefully.  By
the time they leave the nest, the babies are almost the same
size as their parents.

That's why you don't see baby pigeons.

The parents spoil the kids by keeping them sheltered and inside
away from the world until they are almost grown.

Is it any wonder why they fly as little as possible?
Think about that the next time you see a pigeon,
a big one walking.

There are some advertisements which click with you as soon as you see..some of them are.....

FLIP CART..here they dress children as adults and they talk also in adult tone.best is the one where two children dresses as software people are taking milk from a vending machine..and in one two little girls getting beauty treatment..really hilarious.

RELIANCE MOBILE.one with Anushka and Ranvijay..all the situations shown are funny, but the best is where on boy's mother's bday girl calls first and enjoys his discomfort:)

BRU COFFEE..one with Shahid and Priyanka, where priyanka has damaged Shahid's car.

AIRTEL..the latest ones.har ek friend jaroori hota ha..specially the one in restaurant where a boy tell his budget constraint to the waiter and he manages the girls..

HISTORY CHANNEL..with Salman khan

HDFC BANK..that one..sar utha ke jiyo, where a son tries to help his father in getting down from the train and fathers wants to do so on his own..

Whenevr i see them, I feel that bthere are very few advertisement with celebrities, which have any recall quality and none is exceptional..its always the ideas which click, then why they spend so much on getting filmstars?

Now some of the ads which I dont like at all...

CADBURY..where a boss(Jugal hansraaj) rewards an inefficient secretary with choclates)..what sort of advt is this?

Hema malini praising a washing powder or

Madhuri dixit telling us about dish washing soap..how more ridiculous it can be?

Shahrukh advocating fairness cream to boys....

All those soap  ads, they are so misleading...

And that Harpic one..ugh:(
