1- You must post the rules.
2- Answer the questions given by the person tagged you.
3- Tag eleven new bloggers.
4- Set eleven new questions given by the person who tagged you.
5- Inform them about the tag.

And the questions are...

1- Why are you, you?

very difficult question..but I am what I am because of my upbringing and then circumstances, and that way I think that every person is a product of that only.
2- Do you enjoy your job?
I am a homemaker and thoroughly enjoy my work, I loved looking after my children when they were young, I still do, though they dont want me to do that now:)...I love keeping my house spic n span and doing everything for my husband, love everything about it.

In the morning when my husband leaves for office and then I make a cup of tea and read newspaper:)

ANOTHER TAG:)

My friends Sandhya and Amrita Tagged me for this..and it has been a long time, i dont even remember the details, I think it was writing about non girlish things you have done....

As you all know that I am a very traditional person, so i cant state anything extra ordinary:), let me try if I can find anything in my past or may be present...

From the age of 14 I have travelled all alone, later on with children too and then luggage, lots of that, and I could manage evrything very well. In those days not many girls were so independent specially small town ones like me.And I did really long journeys, even in summer and so many times in second class.

I can manage the finances:) and know about most of the products and can calculate the returns faster than the agents selling them. Once my brother called his agent telling him that my sis want to invest. And he thought what will you sis want to talk, she is a woman, my brother told him to come and see:)

In my college days I was considered Phantom, as i was the most fearless girl neither I cultivated many friendships, nor feared anyone. Most of the girls were interested in boys and entertainment, and I only in myself and my studies

When not many wore the pants, I wore them and every other style and now when everyone is wearing them, I dont:)

At one of my hubby's postings, I was the first woman to organise  functions and anchor them, there woman wouldnt go on stage, it was men's prerogative.women could never lead. And just challenge me for anything, I am sure to take it up:)..Impossible was never in my dictionery.

I am the first woman in my family to run a shop and that too succesfully.

I think in rest of the things I am quite feminine, love jwellery, clothes, fashion, movies, music, used to do lot of stitching, knitting, dont like pets and gadzets, but yes love books.

Now i would like to tag..Madhu,Nilu,guari Guha, Rachna,Bhagyareema and Rama

Effects of marriage

AmritaTagged me  by asking :-
A question to all my blog buddies. You can answer anonymously, in case you`re uncomfortable. But do answer.

Has marriage killed the girl in you?
Are you more programed, more regulated in your thoughts and deeds?
Or are you simply calmer? Assuaged?
Are you still in love?
Or are you simply loving? Caring, fond and loyal..?

What does marriage do to you?

Since the journey of my marriage has been a long one.to be precise 35 years,it will take me some real thought to think about it.....Has marriage changed me..yes in some ways, I was the one famous listener, and marriage to a totally same type of person turned me to become a talker:)...Otherwise our home would be a silent era. And in many other things I have grown as a person, since i got married very young, I was an impulsive, hyper ,rigid and righteous to the extent of being very adamant. To me everything was in black and white, grey never existed, now I think its most of the grey, I am still righteous, but have learned to be flexible. But I was very naive, and even today when I see girls being so manipulative, saying something and doing the other thing, I wonder, do they teach this also in colleges today. I always say what is in my heart, even living with inlaws hasnt changed my mindset, I cant manipulate people.

Marriage nevr killed the girl inside me, rather  I bloomed...all the things I couldnt do before marriage, I did after ..like watching all the movies in hall:) and learned so many things, as my life partner always encouraged me and supported me in all my hobbies.

Dont know whether I should term it as programming, but yes after marriage one learns to do something for others also. I do many things, just because they make my hubby happy..all the time I cant think what is making me happy..its always family.I have always put my family first than me, so none of my ambitions or ego, nothing comes before them. And I have learned to take everything in my stride..plus and minuses both.like earlier in my life I couldnt do many things due to the constraints of finances, then children and their education, and today because of my old MIL,but thats a part of life, when I enjoy all the privileges my husband provides, then I must take the responsibility also willingly...I know of few girls who enjoy the privileges citing it as their luck, but dont want to take responsibilities

Love means different feelings for different people, and to me its never unconditional,,because I dont think I could love my husband if he didnt care for me, so its always reciprocal, and in arranged marriage it grows with time..as a different understanding comes.I have been conditioned to the thinking that marriages are forever, so the moment I completed my Saptpadi, I was bound to him in a sacred bond which I could never think otherwise, and we have certainly matured with time..both of us, I just wish that we had this insight earlier:)
Being disloyal, never even came to my mind,I cant even think of it, nothing could ever tempt me, I told you I am a very righteous person. To me strength of character is the first quality one must have, and this is what i have inculcated in my children too.

Marriage has given me two wonderful children who give me maximum pleasure and pain:).....and a partner who may have many priorities in life, but i am very important to him and he to me.Life is never perfect but it is good.

I wouldnt say that journey has been full of pleasure only, it had its own ups and downs, but I am happy that we managed them and reached where we are today.

Tag from G and Hipgrandma

I was tagged by Hiphopgrandmom for seven unknown facts about me and kind of same thing by G and tag from g says.....

Here are the rules of the tag.
1) You have to tag 7 people.
2) You have to link their pages in your tag post
3) You have to leave a comment in their comments section telling them they've been tagged.
4) You have to say who tagged you.

I dont think till now there will be anything unknown about me to my friends, as i always write everything very frankly But still tag is a tag and to me its always a honour to do them  and so here I am:)
  1. I have joined the maximum no. of hobby classes like..shorthand,typing,dance,hawaain guitar, enterpreneural course etc..some I completed and some left midway:)
  2. I am all the time observing and analysing the beahviour of all the people.if he did so why did he do it? and all that crap:)
  3. Though i look a very strong person, but i have been  exploited by my all sometime or other, as I am a emotional fool.hopefully now I have learnt a lesson.
  4. I cant stand lies and I am not a very sweet talker too, rather I am a doer...I always show my love through my deeds, not my words.
  5. I feel very put off by the people who give all the importance in life to clothes jwellery and food...to me life is beyond that too.....
  6. I work better under pressure....without it, I get complacent.
  7. If I am doing something, I want my helpers to be just that without any interference, but when I am working under someone, then I am a  very good assistant too, I just dont like crossing the boundaries in whatever you do.Be hundred percent in whatevr you do..leader or follower.

Tagged by Amrita

Amrita  tagged me with a real special one. This is totally a different one, let me see whether I am able to do justice to this one......

1.A writeup on a kind gesture that someone had done for you which left you speechless
I am the sort of person who feels touched by little little gestures,I never think of big things.I am specially touched when they are done by strangers...So that way there are many incidents in my life..
Once  i was waiting at a bus stop in NOida and many buses came and went and I couldnt get in, then a young boy who was coming after playing badminton, stopped a bus and waited behind me till I boarded..that is one incidence I can never forget.
I ran a shop in Noida and there was this boy Shailesh who worked with me, and after leaving Noida , I got a letter from him (he couldnt even write well)..telling me to call him as he couldnt work with anyone else...I dont know why but most of my maids and servants have loved me so much that at times I feel overwhelmed.

2.Indebted to someone lifelong..who??

I am indebted to God for giving me so wonderful people in my life, as through them I have experienced all shades of life..love and hurt both, as without getting hurt, one cant value love..Whenever I have made some strong assumptions that I will do like this in my life(..some idealistic aproach to life)..god has made me fall flat on my face, just to tell me how small I am to make such  assumptions. And then he only helps me in standing on my feet.
3.Want to say "sorry" to someone..who???
There may be many:)...as I am a typical saggi..blunt and truthful to the core BUT without any malicious bone in me....And thats the reason that most of the time I am misunderstood so much so that, I cant say that there is even one person in this world who understands me well.My feelings, my intentions are always misconstrued..but thru this post I would like to say sorry to each and everyone who felt hurt  as I never wanted anyone to be hurt.
I am just a righteous person without any ambiguity.I cant stand the wrongs.

4.Want to say "thank you" to someone ..who??
Now this is going to be a list like those in filmfare awards:)..I for one nevr forget any kind deed or actions so I am indebted to many, have patience to see the list:)
My grand parents...dada daadi..through them I leant the meaning of pampering, and unlimited love, and they only instilled in me the values of honesty and integrity thru their religious and mythological literature which I read with them.
My dad...he is the one who made me confident, thru him I learnt that..family is more important than money and kindness is biggest virtue..and your deeds are your security and safety in your life ..as god alsways repays you for them.
My mom...because of her only I knew that mothers love their children unconditionally and take all the crap children give them.
My sis..for being a friend and counseller both, for being my soundboard for everything, for just being there for me......
My BIL..for loving and respecting me like a sister..
My Bro..He has given my immense support in all spheres of life..stood like a rock..whenevr I have a problem, I go to him and he always assures me that he would take care of it and Thank my SIl for supporting him.
My husband..for being what he is..so supporting and liberated and having immense faith and confidence in me.
My son..:..for loving me , looking after me and making me feel loved, for being always there for me.
My daughter:...for loving me , looking after me and making me feel loved, for being always there for me.
MY DIl......for loving me.
MY SIL....for making my daughter happy.
blog friends..for giving a new dimension to my life.

5.And whats your most cherished possession till date??

I have reached that stage in my life where I dont cherish things but people..I have lost that feeling of possesions.
6.A special moment in life which brings along a smile every time you think of it.

There are many but I would like to share one..When I got married, we were in Ranchi and one day while walking through college road I saw a torquoise purse in a shop and said ..accha lag raha ha.na.....when on 30th my husband got his salary, he bought that purse and brought home:).I still have vivid memories of that purse.and till today whenever my husband and son are there, I never tell them what I like, because they will get it for me.:)

and now I would like to Tag..-

Another Tag

Amrita gave me the Honest Scrap award for the "openness that shines through my pages". and this is one award, where I atleast feel a little bit worthy of:)

Now the tough part is this award comes with a tag in which one has to mention 10 facts which others may or may not know. But since I am getting an award for openness, that means all my friends must be knowing everything about me, as it is, I am not shy in writing about me, still let us see what i can come up with....

1.When i started blogging, I told everyone in my family about it and now that is one part I am thinking..whether it has done good or bad...may be both..but sometimes it stifles me..other's rules and regulations and expectations.

2.If I meet a needy person, I wouldnt hesitate to shell out a hundred, but if an autowalla demands to keep the change even( a few ruppess) I feel irritated:)

3.I never feel the strain of work if Imy favourite songs are playing in the background.

4.I am a die hard bollywood addict, but more of a different kind..if I ever catch the name of Shabana azmi, girish karnad, om puri or Naseeruddin shah or amol palekar, faarukh sheikh...I would certainly watch that movie.

5.I never liked lunch dinners ever, more of a snack person, and my hubby is mor e of a proper lunch dinner type, so we used to be in trouble most of the times:)

6.Only regret I have in life is that I never did any professional course and since I was very good in studies and was getting admission also..just took everything very lightly.

7.I dont find any job or work below dignity,to medoing a job well is more important..an excellent peon is better than a lousy clerk, to me everything is good and I can do everything, but I hate it when anyone takes me for granted.

8.I dont like hypochondriacs....or even liars...I never make issues of minor health problems,I dont like other family members worrying about me unnecessarily, or even fussing me.and so I cant stand those people also who make a mountain out of a molehill.

9.Me a typcial..saggi..without any maliciousness at all, but very frank....neither I can be overly sweet if I dont mean to, nor I can be fake in my praise.

10. I have a problem that i try to be an agony aunt to everyone and want to see everyone happy..but since even god could not do it, so a mere mortal like me is nothing, and I feel sad.
And i would like to give this award to.....

1.Jayshree
2.Preeti
3-Shruthi
4.Priya
5-Lalitha
6-G
7-Sparkling.

CONTEST ENTRY

I got a mail from this site to take part in this contest, and me being so careless, lost it somewhere and today suddenly I remembered and saw that today is the last day, so posting something in a hurry:)

S was a very brilliant girl born in a lower middle calss family, but she was very ambitious, she used to say..I am born in a lower middle class but its not necessary for me to die in this class, I am going to reach the stars. She worked hard in her studies, and extra curricular activities and was quite self centred in her attitude. If she wanted something, she will take it, no consideration for anyone else. But her perseverance with her studies paid of, today she is a women in her own right, living lavishly, and in her own independent way as an accomplished person.

M was young pampered daughter in a modern household, Her mother pampered her a lot, gave her what she wanted, be it food, clothes, outing anything, as she wanted to make her feel no less than boys. and she didnt even ask her to do anything in the house. She got hooked to a boy and married..since she was not well educated, neither she could do a job, and she wasnt good any anything else. So she was not much respected in her new family. and lost their love also because of her manners.

A was a very intelligent girl whom every body thought of highly and she also wanted to be a professional, but as fate would have it she got married and sucked into a whirlpool of family relationships. Since she was not financially independent, she had to bear the brunt of that and live in an emotionally damaging relationship with her uneducated inlaws , but she was strong enough to bring up her children with sound values and education and today she is a proud mother.

Now here in all the cases it is education which makes the main difference in life...
in the first case though the girl is not a very good human being, but still succesful due to her hard work in her education..though personally I dont like to get success at the cost of good behaviour.

In the second one, though one can never be happy if one is not hard working, still if the girl was well educated and working she would have changed lot of equations.and made her life fulfilling.

In the third also that girl suffered only because she married without education, had she been well educated, life would have been totally different..so I totally give all emphasis to our education, it only can remove all other problems.

Now it is a must to tag three friends, though now they wouldnt be able to do the needful, but still i would like to tag...Preeti,Shalom,Piper and Amrita

46THINGS TO RMEMEBR

Below are commandments of life I got from a spiritual site I like, now I want to check what is there in the list and how much they relate to me, what i do and what need some improvement:)

1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

This is the best mantra of life and brings happiness all around us, I have started doing it and it works like magic.

2. Memorize your favorite poem.

Instead of any poem I like songs:)

3. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have, or sleep all you want.

Another gem......so many times we hear something and make impressions which are far from truth, and as far as spending is concerned one must always save a substantial amount from one's earnings.Sleeping too much is bad for health and life both.

4. When you say, "I love you," mean it.
Oh.. hundred percent, I dont believe in lying in any sphere of life, I ask even my children not to give me cards where they promise me the moon, unless they can deliver:).

5. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
Its two hundred percent true..sorry is one word which is used in vain all the time, people say sorry just to calm other person, they never mean it. meaning it means, not doing the same thing again, thats the best way of saying sorry,

6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married and get your parents approval.
I believe in this totally for many reasons..six months period is mandatory because it will bring your fever down and let you see the reality, and by then if you are still in love, then it is a long lasting one, and parents approval is a must as marriage as it is a very difficult relationship and cant sustain without their support.

7. Believe in love at first sight.
I dont believe in this.

8. Never laugh at anyone's dreams.
True, because one always dreams about seemingly impossible things, but perseverant people make them possible also.

9. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt, but it's the only way to live life completely.
At a time I thought that there is no point in loving anybody as we get hurt only, but then I realised its like not living, I must be my natural self..a loving person, what others give me is their persona..it must be irrelevant to me.So now I have decided to be natural the way i am always going over the top while loving, exce-t that i wont care now what theya re doing in return.

10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
OMG..this one takes the cake..anger most of the time brings out the worst in us, but then only our character is tested, I try to control myself and whenever I have lost it, I have regretted it.

11. Don't judge people by their relatives.
Of course how can we?

12. Talk slow but think quick.
I talk very fast and so is my thinking quick:)

13. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
so true when someone asks you about salary?

14. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
I agree.

15. Call your Mom.
Oh yes, I call my mom regularly, and so does my daughter, its my son who is irregular:).sometimes too much, sometimes too little.

16. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
I do>

17. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
I learn everyday with everything and everybody something or the other.

18. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; Responsibility for all your actions.
True.specially with the children, they want autonomy in the family:) but rarely perpared to take the consequences:)

19. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship
But with me it happens....trying to change....
.
20. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
That I am very prompt in... saying sorry..which I mean and making amends, no verbal sorries for me.

21. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice
....Yeah, whenever I call my family, and if they reply in slow voices , I get unsettled.

22. Marry someone you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other skill.
This is what I told my son about how to choose a girl:)..(of course it shouldnt be the main quality:)

23. Spend time alone
Me time is very important to me.

24. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
Never!!!!

25. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
Even I think so.

26. Read more books and watch less TV
I follow this religiously....dont like TV much except for movies. give me books any time.

27. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll get to enjoy it a second time.
Doing so:)

28. Trust in God, but lock your car.
certainly..God is not a watchman for us:)

29. A loving atmosphere in your home is so important. Do all you can to create a tranquil harmonious home.
I cant even live with strife in the family.

30. In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current situation; don't bring up the past.
This is one of the best advice..as most of time fighting people go so far in blaming that they forget the point even they were fighting about.Earlier I was also guilty of this, now trying to learn.

31. Read between the lines.
sometimes it is good, and sometimes it is bad also.Reading too much bings strees(between the lines of course:)

32. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.
Doing that presently:)

33. Be gentle with the earth.
Then only we can use it.

34. Pray -- there's immeasurable power in it.
Prayer can bring miracles.

35. Never interrupt when you are being flattered.
Flattery is also good to hear sometimes:)

36. Mind your own business.
This one is so true..interference anywhere is not good, lead your own life.

37. Don't trust someone who doesn't close their eyes when you kiss them.

38. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
now will start this tradition.

39. If you make a lot of money, put it to use helping others while you are living. That's wealth's greatest satisfaction.
I dont make a lot of money but still want to help others.

40. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a stroke of luck.
That i know, because there is a saying in Hindi..khuda ganjey ko nakhoon nahi deta......God is always great and he knows better than us what we need.

41. Learn the rules then break some.
I believe in living by rules, no rule breaking for me.

42. Remember that the best relationship is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.
Trying to understand this....true with children, difficult with a spouse:)

43. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

44. Remember that your character is your destiny.
Then I have a good destiny:)..character is one thing even I give the utmost importance in life.

45. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
Yeah:) I do lot of cooking for my family and love them more than I should.

46. Realize that as you get older, you are not approaching death, but heaven.
That I have realised and I dont fear death and even if today i die I wouldnt have any regrets, I would die a happy person.
