NEW YEAR

There is this friend of ours who is such a fun loving person..actually thats the reason my husband got close to him..he is fun to be with and enjoys life to the hilt.Suddenly he got a jolt..one normal day he got some headache and then couldnt stand and was hospitalised..He had a stroke which doctors didnt realise initially..and then he was in ICU.he couldnt eat, speak or stand.....but thankfully now he is OK and recovering.

His son who is settled in US came immediately and here for 7 weeks and when we went to see him we met him and I came back so impressed..

That young man was so good in all respects.like he was so caring towards his father mother, doing everything like bringing tea, cold drink, snacks to us with so much ease. He was dressed in a very nice T and pant/pyjamas, he talked to nicely and intelligently,...what i really loved was

His dressing sense..I like to see people in neat dress, normally people coming from abroad think as if they have come to a slum and they dont need to dress properly here, or they dont give anybody importance...In my opinion we give importance to the host/guest by dressing properly.

No arrogance or I know everything attitude.which i see so common in people today.sometimes I really get fed up with people who keep arguing in the group.

He has completed the TRIATHLON IRON MAN

Very well mannered..came to see us off,sat there talking to us, got us cold drinks, snacks very properly and his attitude towards his parents...filled me with admiration and for me the new year starts with a very positive note that still we have good people who outnumber the others...we havent lost our culture and all.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND FULFILLING NEW YEAR!!!

PROGRESS

One father sided with his DIL and grandchildren when his son had differences, because he thought that they were right, and the4 consequences..son took the divorce and when married again, he didnt even call his father who was in the same city..I felt so sad, how could children be like that?.Are the parents there to just support you and agree with you? dont they have the right to differentiate between right and wrong?.whats happening......

One couple who married against their parent's wishes wanted protection from police because they feared their parents, what has happened to parents?...how could they even think of killing their offsprings?.saying the right thing is their right, but taking lives is not...How can they even think of hurting their own children?
... They are a shame for the name of parents ...they dont deserve to be called parents.

Being parents mean looking after your children when they are young and always wishing them well and never doing anything to hurt them...please learn the meaning of parents..

FORCE

FORCE

It was a hit movie , so I was interested, but felt very dissappointed. Its like the movies of 80,90 where villain created a mayhem everywhere.I dont like to see such violence and when police is shown efficient and still they are beaten, their families killed and raped..so what does their efficiency mean..nothing..they know everything and still are incompetent..thats why i loved Wanted and Dabangg..they were better crafted without mindless violence...The only plus point about this movie is Genelia..she always brings whiff of fresh air.. a delight to watch.....John has everything going for him, but story makes him a loser.

AARAKSHAN..
I nevr thought that Saif who is from a privileged back ground, could esaay the role of underprivileged, but he has done it,but Prateik is really good. One good thing about this movie is that they have said all there is for and against reservation, through all the characters and left it to the audience to decide what is good..though thru their protagonist they show that they are in favour of reservation. But at the same time they have shown the problems and miseries of poor upper class too.
Their solution is utopian and when we couldnt bring the underpriviloeged at par after 60 years of reservation, we must stop it.I favour the statement from Tanvi Aazmi that underprivileged must be given all the facilities for their primary education to bring them at par, but no reservation in either jobs or competitions.
Since it is a movie, they have ideal people like AB and his family, Tabelas so big that one can run instituions there...all sundry people supporting them.....

BODYGUARD
It is a very simple love story without any high octave scenes or situations..its just the treatment and Salman Khan who make it lovable and endearing..I liked it:)

If anybody is interested in watching some interesting serial, then please watch..AFSAR BITIYA....its a sheer delight to see real people and city and that girl.who is the protagonist.she is my ideal, and gets my respect all the way.A girl who does what she says..no dichotomy anywhere ..and she is independent without being rude or uncaring, simple without beeing foolish, I think if they go properly, this girl could be an icon..how a person should be..
This and the girl in Hitler didi..both get my support, thats the way to be...thats s the meaning of being modern, progressive to me.

ONE OR TWO

Yesterday i had a very interesting discussions about children with a friend. I am of the view that all normal well to do couples must have atleast two kids..my thought being that this

Makes a happy family..
single child feels very lonely, here they get company.
Children need somebody very close to them whom they can confide and share their thoughts.
Since parents wont live forever, one must have someone related in blood.
One enjoys the life more, and festivals too

but their thoughts shook my faith, theb say..
Today nobody has time and they dont talk to their siblings very often.
people are located globally, so distances are too much too visit often.
financially also it is convenient to have one only.

what do you think?

Dignity in living

Dignity..small word with big meaning......most of the people think that with age dignity comes naturally, though it should, but I have seen many old people behaving greedily, in a manner most unsuited to their age..like..

Once in a kitty party there were mostly aged woman..in their 60/s 70/s and all of them from wealthy families, that i knew because they were talking about no. of cars they have, how big their houses are and all that and when they played tambola, they wanted even 5/ to be divided in 3 people and given., they couldnt leave that to their friends...I was shocked, because I have never bothered about small things like that.

Then there was this old lady who was so miserly with domestic help that would never ever give anything to her whereas she would part with everything for her daughters or relatives....again shocking to me, because to me being good means doing things for others, For their own blood , everybody does and it is out of attachment, so it has no value to me.

I have seen many grown ups cheating in playing games at parties, old ladies helping their grand children in winning and cribbing when they couldnt..it all surprises me, because the people who cant keep their morals even in such small things, what can we expect from them?.where is that spirit of playing, playing fair and happily..why winning is so important?

And then that fatal attraction for food..my mother used to tell us when we were young that eating too much is never a good omen and takes away the wealth of the house and secondly any homemaker is Annpoorna and she brings prosperity to her home if she puts family over self...and we all siblings are like this..... will always keep things for others, like if any day quantity of cooked vegetable was less, then it will be left even after every body has eaten, because everyone will leave for the other one, sharing comes so easily to us, and so I feel very surprised when I see in the families people taking food without any thought to others,or distributing unequally,or keeping the best for self...

I think that with age one must exercise restrain..with everything, be it talking, eating, sightseeing or any type of greed.specially if they are not physically competent..since they have come to this age, it already means they have seen enough of everything...why not make your life a gift to others?..an inspiration....

DONT MESS WITH MOM:)

My son came home from school one day, with a smirk upon his face.
He'd decided he was smart enough, to put me in my place.
"Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The "Children's Bill of Rights."

It says I need not clean my room,
don't have to cut my hair.
No one can tell me what to think, or speak, or what to wear.
I have freedom from religion,
and regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
and I sure don't have to pray.
I can wear earrings if I want,
and pierce my tongue & nose.

I can read & watch just what I like,
and get tattoos from head to toes.
And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with the crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
with the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
my body's only for my use,
not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.

Don't preach about your morals,
like your mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights,
so you can't influence me,
or I'll call Children's Services Division,
better known as C.S.D. "

Of course my first instinct was To toss him out the door
But the chance to teach a lesson made me think a little more.
I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.

A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.
The next day I took him shopping
at the local Goodwill Store I told him,
"Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.
I've called and checked with C.S.D.,
who said they didn't care
if I bought you K-Mart shoes instead of those Nike Airs.
And I've canceled that appointment to take your driver's test.

The C.S.D. is unconcerned so I'll decide what's best.
" I said "No time to stop and eat, or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn to make your own sack lunch.
Just save that raging appetite,
and wait 'til dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
a favorite dish of mine."

He asked "Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?"
"Sorry, but I sold your TV,
for new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room,
you'll take the couch instead.
The C.S.D. requires just a roof above your head.
Your clothing won't be trendy now,
and I'll choose what we eat.
That allowance that you used to get,
will buy me something neat.
I'm selling off your jet ski,
dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the "Parent's Bill of Rights,
" It's in effect today!
Hey hot shot, are you crying,
and why are you on your knees? Are you asking God to help you out, instead of C.S.D.?"

KHUDA KAY LIYE

KHUDA KAY LIYE

I had heard a lot about it.This the story of Pakistani who went to London, settled there and married a British girl, and for that he is ridiculed in his community. And when his daughter Mary grows up and wants to marry a Britisher, he takes her to Pakistan with the promise that after coming back he would accept her boy friend. But once there he gets her forcibly married to her cousin.Mansoor and leaves her in a village where he cant stay even one more day as toilets are not good.

Mansoor has been brainwashed by a fanatic maulvi who thinks that music is prohibited by Islam and he makes him a jihaadi.
Mansoor's brother doesnt agree to him and goes to US to follow his dream in music and ther 9/11 happens and he becomes a victim of racial profil, goes to jail and tortured so much that looses his brain and then deported to pakistan to his family.

Mary tries to get away , but fails initially, later she manages to send a letter to london to his boy friend and is freed with the help of mansoor's parents and british Govt, and she takes his father to court in Pakistan. Their an educated and liberal maulvi(...impressive Naseeruddin shah) dispels all fanatics thought by quoting religious scriptures and declares that Islam is neither against women, nor music and jihad doesnt mean terrorism, its fight within against everything bad

What i liked about the movie is....

Heroine Iman Ali.she is very good and lovable.
First time I got to see Muslim movie with real people in the real environment, otherwise in India they show only caricatures.
Naseeruddin Shah:)

and what I disliked...
Mary staying back there..that was so illogical for an intelligent movie, and the girl who didnt know Urdu, putting up a board in that language..letting her go back would have been more effective.
Though Naseeruddin shah is very impressive, but it makes the movie sort of preaching only..if they had shown the change of heart thru incidents or people gradually..would have been better.

The angle of 9/11 was not needed,Second brother's plight was unnecessary..it made the story a little complex ..instead if they had shown more about Pakistan and the people there..would have been interesting .

Speedy Singhs

This is a NRI movie, just like bend it like Beckham, story is same, but it is interesting and the couple..Camilla belle and Vinay virmani, both are very good and look good, specially Camilla...I feel pity for Indian fathers who never support their children in fulfilling their dreams and always ridicule them, but when children reach the top, they come forward to claim that he or she is their child, they are not averse to glory then, and I feel proud of such children who make it despite all the hurdles.

STEPFORD Wives

This is a quite different type..
High profile wife(Nicole kidman) and her family go to Stepford to find peace and and make their marriage work. And they find there extraordinary peace and happiness in the people..all wives are so robotic in their smiles , work and looking after their husbands, and husbands are enjoying to he hilt and then it starts bothering Jo and when she investigates , she finds that all the wives have been turned into Robots by placing a chip in their brain..Then how she saves herself and gets back to her life.forms the story.
