Safety what is that?
In India we bring every game but never take precautions, charge fully but dont spend..because here everything is about getting rich faster.
We have read about 2-3 incidents in amusement parks in Chennai..one caused even death, still we go there and take our chances.
Yesterday a young life was wasted in Bangalore in sky diving due to negligence and improper maintenance.
Four of our small cars failed the test in safety in crash...are we going to do anything about it?..No life just goes on...
People die when a boat capsizes in Andaman because in a capacity of 28 it was carrying 50...is there no one to check?
Train compartments catch fire and there are some casualties...
We have no time to look into any of these problems as we have more important things to worry about like 2002 riots and 84 riots..

As long as we have the "sub chaltha hai yaar" attitude, it will never improve.
How many Indians are prepared to throw out everything and fight in the street against the army?
And after all that, Life still goes on. People will stay away from similar incidents for a week max a month, and then forget about it. Thats the norm now, isnt it ??
there was also this volvo incident in december charring all the occupants (except 7 and the driver),
A case of over worked driving and the driver slept at wheels for a few seconds. The bus was overloaded for a few fast bucks by the driver.
Slowly such memories erase from the public to make way for new. There seems to be no end.
The systems are there in many cases but there is no proper check,no
maintenance or plain indifference.
Heavy compensation as in US should be imposed to instil fear
In India, they never care or aim for 100% perfect. Even if they think 99.999% perfect is enough, it is no good. For example, if the airline industry is 99.999% perfect, then there would be one major accident every 17 days for each major airline in the world. That is 21 major accidents per airline per year.
When have we worried about any riots, a tragedy. They , the later are in plenty .
We are a race who are in a sense "lotus eaters' or we are ridden by amnesia.
everybody's work is nobody's work!
Too much population has made the value of humanity irrelevant. We, Indians, basically don't aim for perfection in anything. Above average is OK because it is like that everywhere, why bother, attitude. Yes, 'chalta hai' attitude. Who is perfect is the next question!
value of life and concern of safety is trivial issues in our society…
SG..yes , but even we dont fight we can be vigilant.like to see before using a ferry whether it is overcrowded and if it is then get out of it like wise...
Menachery: welcome here ! and norm is that ut shouldnt we change it..
Asha:..we need to be vigilant Asha..
Kpsarthsarthi: why do we have this mentality of doing everything under fear only..fear of penalty here..
Anil Kurup:We should start worrying now..
deeps: now we should make it our work..and change the norms..
Sandhya: but it stime we change this attitude..
It baffles me why such simple thing like wearing a seat belt (even in the back seat) is not enforced here. I am always told to relax, this is India! Anyway, nice to find your blog. Take care.
Chai a Cup of Life: your name is so true for me..tea is my life:)..welcome here!!!
