Amsterdam...I day

Today we started our trip to Amsterdam. From Zurich  took a morning flight to Amsterdam and reached there by nine. And lo., there was public transport strike and we had to take a taxi to our hotel.. Novotel at Europa Boulevard. Here I would suggest everyone that it would be better to take a hotel near centrum.. Railway station because taxi is quite expensive, we paid 40 euro from airport to hotel and evertime from hotel to centrum it was 45 € .
From the centrum we walked to dams square and walked around the town had lunch and took a tour to Zaanse schans around 2.45 Pm. It’s ticket was 59€ per person. We started with wind mills tour. Wind mills are used to make so many things even oil, people live there.. like in half house and half is their working are.. it was extraordinarily beautiful place. I could see in dreams only..
This city is 30 meters below sea let, so to make ground habitable, lots of management was done in 1932 and still do . Since the ground is not very conducive to crops they do cattle farming.. and lots of cheese is manufactured here.we see the cheese making process in Volendam and many people buy also. There was homemade ice cream and waffles there it was yummy. After that we take a cruise to aMerken island. It is a Dutch hamlet initially inhabited by poor fisherman.. there houses look beautiful in just 2 colours green and black and it is because they couldn’t afford to buy paint they could make black by tar and green by plants.these house are made differently... ground floor in brick and first floor in wood due to marshy land. Here they make wood clogs and it’s a beautiful art.
Their management of resources made me realise how much we can do in our country. They have changed the salty ocean water to seeet water lake.
