First in 2009

Wish you ALL A Prosperous and Happy New Year !!!

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be happy and successful ...

Have a Successful Year ahead !!! 2009 HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR

"Everything in life is temporary. Darkness of the night; or a bright day. Even sunrise is temporary; so is sunset. So if things are going good, enjoy it because it won't last forever. And if things are going bad, don't worry. Because it won't last forever either. Everything passes by"

Have a great life ahead !!! .

A year has passed, since i started blogging, though I started the blog long back but started writing only a year back. What a great enlightening journey it has been ! In the beginning..i was a complete novice..not that i am an expert now, but then i didnt know any short forms..like what is D or P:)...like that, and if got some comment, didnt know that i must acknowledge it, then my daughter sat with me and told me..ma , the blog is like your home and if somebody comes to ur home, aint u going to visit them and acknowledge them. and me felt too shy to reply the comment or write a comment. Would you believe it if i said that initially i used to ask my D to write on my behalf:), it was the same as when I got married, everybody called us for dinner, and i being so shy would avoid the invitations like anything, sometomes I would ask my H to go alone..poorH..he will say...but they have called because they want to welcome u:(.....I cant believe , i have changed over the years so much...from a complete silent introvert to a total extrovert, talkative person.
I started this blog to write my heart out and i wanted my views to reach others. But slowly and slowly following the etiquettes of the blogville......came the rules and propriety...and somewhere it turns a person into too much of a diplomat, whereas my whole life i have followed one thing strictly.....be genuine in whatever u say or do. Even in very trivial things also, i dont like to tell a lie..like whenever we go to someone's place for dinner, usual thanks would be something like that from everybody...oh the dinner was delicious, very tasty and blah blah, but for me...if i liked only one dish, I will appreciate that only and if i liked nothing, I would appreciate the efforts that hostess has put,.
last year I had taken a few resolutions and I feel I have followed them quite well, this time I would reiterate that...
I will follow the policy of no complaints...from people or life--in today's world complaining hardly gets u anything except in the govt. offices.....
acceptance and acknowledments of everything.
Be geuine , sorround yourself with the people who like u or whom u like, so that you have a positive aura all around.
Be happy with what you can do for your self and others, dont depend on others for your happiness.
Before saying or doing anything first chk----it doesnt hurt anybody, because I believe that anything which hurts anyone cant ever be good for u. Hurting anybody verbally or otherwise a strict no--no--in my book.
Be environment friendly..say no to plastic, consume less water and electricity.
Consume everything in lesser quantity.
Do something for less privileged.
These are a few commandments of mine, wish me good luck , so that i can follow them.

WHY INDIA?

why india?......This question must be haunting many...........
Because we are Gujratis, Marathis, Punjabis, Bengalis, Malyalee....not INDIANS.
* Because our leaders protect themselves with 350 police personell & 50 cars. Who cares about the common man.
* Because politicians will run to console families of slain terrorists merely to earn some brownie points.
* Because we are scared...........scared to execute one measely convicted terrorist.
* Because we elect a PM who is more of an academician than an administrator.
* Because we believe that social equality can be achieved not by teaching a man how to fish but by providing him fish for days to come.
* Because democracy in India enables us to condemn anything & everything whereas the propounders of the Magna Carta restrict speech against God & the Queen.
* Because for most of us, nation building is restricted to compiling the Indian Cricket team.
* Because we let Mandir & Masjid run our daily lives not roti, kapda or makan.
* Because we let tolerance lead to impotence.
* Because in a nation of a billion people it is difficult now to find a single "man".
THATS WHY INDIA !!

BALIKA BADHU

Balika Badhu....This is the serial quite popular now..a..days, so when i went home, and heard everybody talking about it, I had to see it.It started very nicely..about child marriages and its bad effects. But what is it with indian TV that they are hardly able to maintain the story line and standards. That child bride and her antics were quite interesting, novel and natural, specially the girls..Anandi..Fuli

now suddenly the focus has shifted to the marriage of a young girl to an aged man. And here the treatment goes haywire. The young girl Gehna is wed to an old.....or i wud say middle aged rich man whose wife has died. Gehna has no other special attribute except that she is beautiful and young and chosen for her beauty. her parents are poor, taken more loans than they can pay for,I mean they are literally on the road. So the rich man gives them pots of money to take care of their loan and rest of the family.

Here the girl doesnt resent her parents....who sold her(her language), or who benefited so much with this relationship. She doesnt say anything before marriage or refuses to marry..no nothing like that, but after marriage...

she insults her inlaws...

defies the rules and traditions of the family,

is rude to the matriarch of the family......to me she doesnt come out as a brave girl but an ungrateful wench, who doesnt keep her side of bargain. If i was in her position....I would have worshipped the people who made my whole family settled and comfortable, cant a girl do that much for her parents, because of this marriage, her whole family is happy otherwise they all, including her would have been living a life of misery, much worse fate than she is in,and she being a poor girl should know better,,........and after all marriage is done without hiding anything, its not done surreptitiously.,Since the serial is quite popular,..i feel that they are propagating wrong ideas into the minds of girls...like defying ur elders is good thing or indiscipline in the family is not bad.....I know... i know that girls who get influenced by TV dont have much IQ or atleast EQ, but influenced they get.......

And here I am not saying that the matriarch is right or everything else is right, But this type of situation I have seen in many movies also, where girls will marry (HDDCS, Blackmail old one,Kasak and many more)but create problems after marriage, If u are so brave then have the guts before marriage...why destroy somebody else? I prefer the old thought....once married...then be genuinely so .Why bring misery to others?

here if she was raising her voice just for the injustice being done by daadisa, or for the dictatorship even, then it wud have been praiseworthy, but the way she humiliates her in front of neighbors and all the time insults her and her husband for bringing her is very unbecoming of a cultured girl.

Few lovely quotes ,ending with a Joke

JAANE KYA HO JAAYE......

RU BARU
yesterday I saw RU BARU ,its literal meaning is...face to face... a very different concept which I havent seen earlier. The story unfolds like this...
Nikhil (Randeep hooda.....now dont ask me who is he;)...one of the many exes of Sushmita sen), gets up in the morning...very busy, as he has a presentation, his live-in girl friend Tara (Shahana Goswami) wants him to go to India with her and meet her parents, and then come to her show at Theatre, as usual a busy morning and as ocupied he is with his clients..he is a little irritated, says no to going India, then presentation is not succesful and when he take a taxi to go to the theatre..taxi driver engages him into a conversation telling him..whatever u want to do..do now, life may not give u a chance again..since u love ur girlfriend..show it., but then he doesnt like the show much and then they have a tiff in the restaurant dining out, Tara goes out alone, he wants to stop her, but she doesnt listen, and boards a taxi...................and ............Crash..........
And he gets up..really it was a dream...he is really frightened now....and as the day advances..everything happens the same way he saw in the dream...exactly....even the clothes are same..but his responses are different.........now he is cool,,,,and he seals the deal, and then takes Tara to spend a day together and fulfil all her dreams like..
buys flower for her,
decides to go to India to see her parents.
genuinely appreciates her performance in the theatre,
makes arrangement so that she fulfills her desire of singing on stage,
takes her to his parents,
Makes peace with his parents.
Since he saw taxi crashing, he didnt want to travel by car, takes a train.
By the evening Tara is so happy..says..its the bestest day of my life.
and then he proposes:) also.
While coming back he wants to walk back, but Tara insists and they sit in the taxi...same one......and Crash.
But it is Nikhil who dies this time, not Tara.
What a spooky one ! And Randeep is looking every inch a modern executive..quite dashing and handsome , dapper in suits, while Shahana is like next door girl, sometimes sweet, sometimes very ordinary to look at.But I loved the interchanges between them. And then there is her girl friend who is always instigating her against Nikhil...so typical of gfs:)... They never like other's bf and nor trust them:)
The movie is worth a watch, interesting and tells u...the same thing kabir told us long ago.......whatever u want to do do it today..dont post pone it for tomorrow.....u may not get a second chance for everything.
Most of the time people go to see some really trash movies because of their star values, and dont give a second stare to movies without stars, but i prefer simple movies with actors and a story line.

ONE MORE TAG FROM ME

I always like to do tags..cant say why..may be it tells me that someone remembers me and wants to know about me....may be it gives me the feeling of wanted..whatever:), but i enjoy doing them...but yes for the complicated ones, my daughter has to do a little here and a little there:), but then my daughter has always been a perfect helper and assistant to me and continues to do so,inspite of being busy with job & husband..in that order only..:) and because i want to enjoy every thing in life i am doing all the tags slowly at my pace...so always delayed:(.

Hiphop grand mom tagged me for this....

My oldest memory:

I have many.....but the oldest one is ..where have this very hazy picture of me and my grandmother (daadi) going to Neemsaar( a pilgrimage) going on a Riksha and falling down and one more of watching GANGA JAMUNA with my daadi and younger sister sitting just in front of the screen and getting scared by fight scenes:), And u will be surprised to know that in the same hall, my parents were watching the same movie in the balcony:) Actually what happened that my parents went and then me and my sis goaded our granny to take us also..poor lady....by the time we reached there, there was no other place available..and we were adamant upon watching...and on top of it..what we told our granny ........ it is a religious movie...see the name is Ganga jamuna;) , u will also enjoy:) I must be 6 yrs old.

10 YEARS AGO:

10 yrs ago, i was in kanpur and enjoying the life at the fullest, as my son and daughter both were in boarding..so no work, i had a very good social circle and better friends, some people may call it very shallow also, but i say that these are the different phases of life...I used to love organising parties and was a very active and popular member of our club:)

MY FIRST THOUGHT THIS MORNING;

What should I have in breakfast..na--its quite mundane...actually nothing special, i just wanted to clean up my H's drawer and put all the papers in order...u see its all in a mess, since i was not here for last month----every day when i get up..I thank God for giving me another beautiful day along with a lovely family:)

If you built a time capsule, what would it contain:

It will have my laptop with net connection, some music--melodies from Rafi, ghazals from Talat Aziz and some good books--may be Hindi literature, and tea and if I could keep ppl also, then my sister ( so that we can do the gupshup).and of course TEA.

This year:

Has been very good to me, I came to Chennai and my brother visited me..i cant imagine him coming here, as its very far away and he is an extremely busy man, he came just to see me.......then all my children came together.............,my daughter came twice...then SIL also..what a bonanza it was...and then my son and daughter-in.law stayed with me, here. ,for two....... months, and icing on the cake was that I had my own royal trip to my home town:), the downside had been only that i had the max.no. of checkups of my life this yr and went under the knife also, for the first time in my life, but i prefer to see the sunny side that i came out hale and hearty with my voice intact:)

14 years from now:

cant say anything, whether i will be there or...... just wish and hope that i retain the positivity of my mind, and able to do something for the others.without taking anything from anybody and live my life with dignity. And if I am able to make any difference to even a single human being (unrelated to me), I will feel that I lived well, it was worth it.

Now I need to do the tagging...let me see whom I can......as i see it there is no point in tagging 20 somethings:) and most of the bloggers i know are very young.........so I tag...Sandhya, JP ,Starry nights and Balvinder.

OUR MISSION

With reference to my last post and after reading so many blogs about terrorist attack, I have seen that everybody is puzzled, scared ,enraged, confused looking for a solution. But for a problem so grave we cant have any overnight solution, but after thinking a lot I have come to the conclusion that for a long term solution......we must start a JIHAD that....
In whatever professions we are..we will do our jobs most sincerely and honestly.
We will take all the decisions in our life, thinking about the right values, not personal interests.
We shall not take or give bribe even if our work is delayed.
We shall not take short cuts in life..never.
We shall vote,come what may.
we shall never shirk from the responsibilities.
If we spread these values and people start following it.....there will be a drastic change in everything.. terrorist cant bribe anyone to get info or entry, cant take any arms, weapon inside, leaders will be accountable and doing their job seriously, all states will prosper leaving no scope for making the unemployed youth vulnerable to exploitation from our enemies. Instead of blaming this and that we should reform ourselves, leaders also come from us only. May be in this Jihad we will loose a little money , a few opportunities here and there, but the end result will be worth more than anything...we will make our country a beautiful place to live in for our children.
One very day..to..day example i can give is ....We think that by giving bribe(donations) to a school admission, we are doing it for a better future of our child...But I think we are starting their life with a bribe....are we ready to sacrifice that?
In India we dont have any shortage of anything neither talent nor money, but the irony is....those who are responsible are not honest and development doesnt happen a regular pace..
Lets start a mission......from ourselves....pledge to do all.... and if we cant do that, then we must brace ourselves and be ready to face many more attacks and stop whining, complaining and blaming others.

MUMBAI ATTACKS

So much has been written about them everywhere that nothing new I could add, still some questions are popping up in everyone's mind,, I got few very valid questions and points in my email, and i want to share them with you........
The audacity, planning and flawless execution of this attack has really shamed India - its intelligence agencies, navy, government (central & state), home ministry and what not. the terrorists have made a mockery of a great nation considered to be moving towards a superpower in the next few decades. How is it that an entire team of terrorists could enter Mumbai by sea and the navy does not get a wind of it. Were they sleeping away to glory? How is it that MOSSAD warns us of these attacks and inspite of that we don’t react forget getting intelligence before other agencies like MOSSAD. This is not the first time either. When Mr. Rajiv Gandhi & Ms Indira Gandhi were assassinated MOSSAD had provided intelligence as well only to be ignored by our ‘intelligent’ intelligence agencies.

The death toll because of terrorist attacks in the last 2 years has been 3600 next only to the iraq war and look at the difference given to the significance of these nos between US & India. The Congress governmentt has proved to be the most complacent, lacklustre, irresponsible governement of all times. It has failed miserably in containing any attacks - there have been 4-5 attacks in a space of 6 months and they are sitting like wimps and lame ducks. If they cannot take responsibility of the nation how can they be at the centre? Perhaps that is our fault as well in electing such a handicapped government. The speech given by our PM was one of the least inspiring speech I have seen in such crucial junctures. How many times did he or, the CM (Vilas Rao) or Ms Sonia Gandhi come on the Television to share their views with the polity? How come during elections they are omnipresent and invisible when the nation needs them the most. Why is there Z security for all politicians and ZERO security for the common man. The terrorists had set up two control rooms in the hotels. What about India? The commandos did not even have a plan of the hotels before they entered. One could hardly see the police cordone of the area surrounding the hotels. Anyone and everyone could be around and could enter the hotel as well. One CNN correspondent almost ended up doing that. The police was giving conflicting news consistently. As soon as they said the siege is over one could hear more shots in the background perhaps to remind them incessantly that need to pull up their socks and manage the crisis better. Why didn’t we have a control room to help the family members of those who were held inside?

For once we don’t want Mumbai to be resilient please. Please don’t take this as another attack. Please take some action, make your presence felt and don’t let your politicians take you for granted. Take the matter in your own hands. We don’t want Manomohan Singh or Vilas Rao Deshmukh or Sonia Gandhi. Let them have glory celebrating on tax payers money and filling up their coiffeurs. We will have to take up our security in our own hands.
Contributed by Vishal.

How many terrorists were there? Did they number 20 as Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told a press conference on Thursday? Or did they number many more? If two or three terrorists attacked the CST, how many terrorists were present at the Taj and Trident? Did the CST terrorists drop a grenade/explosive device at Dockyard Road on the way to the station? Or was someone else responsible for that act of terror which claimed three lives?
The terrorists are said to have set up control rooms at the Taj and Trident hotels, a Cabinet minister told PTI on Thursday. When were these bookings made? A detailed investigation into the bookings made at both hotels in the months, weeks and days before the attacks may reveal the names of suspicious guests who registered there.
Military sources tell rediff that there was no way the terrorists could have carried so much ammunition with them when they assaulted the two hotels with their guns blazing. They believe the ammunition may have been stored earlier in rooms at both the hotels, perhaps on the higher floors.
If some of the terrorists had registered at the hotels earlier, could these men/women have left along with the guests who were released? Did the police record the identities and addresses of the guests who were released from both hotels?
Indian Hotels Chairman Ratan Tata indicated on Thursday that the terrorists had intimate knowledge of the Taj, its service corridors, its layout. Does this mean that they had a mole inside the Taj? Or more worrying, did a couple of them work there at some point of time? Did they have drawings of the layout of the two hotels?
If the terrorists were Pakistani, how did they have such an intimate knowledge of the terrain? The two or three cowards who attacked the CST on Wednesday night made their way from the CST through a road on the left side of The Times of India building towards the Cama and Albess hospital/Azad Maidan police station, a route that is known only to true-blood Mumbaikars. Were they locals? Or did they conduct extensive reconnisance of the likely routes of escape?
These same two or three men, who are said to have commandeered ATS Chief Hemant Karkare’s police Qualis after shooting him, Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Kamte and Inspector Vijay Salaskar, revealed similar familiarity with the road outside the Esplanade Court, making an easy U-turn towards the Metro cinema junction rather than head on the road towards the CST. How did they know this if they were Pakistanis?
How did those men, whose images have appeared all over the world, get to the CST from Colaba where they are said to have landed by boat? Did they take a taxi? Or did they have local transportation? Did they come by a suburban train, which could explain the firing on one of the suburban train platforms? Who left the grenade on the Gitanjali Express, which killed a Bengali mother?
The terrorists are said to have done extensive reconnisance of the city. If they are Pakistanis, how did they get earlier entry to the city unnoticed? Did they come in by boat? Or did they use other routes to escape notice?
Such an operation could not have been conducted without extensive training and preparation, possibly on models of the Taj and Trident or Chabad House/Nariman House. Could this have been achieved at the rudimentary training camps hosted by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in Pakistan occupied Kashmir? Or was it a more systematised operation conducted by a State agency in a hostile country?
How did they know Chabad House/Nariman House, which even long-time residents of Colaba — the area in South Mumbai where the Taj, the Leopold Cafe and Chabad/Nariman House are located — are unfamiliar with? The choice of this target indicates precision thinking — it is doubtful if the Lashkar strategists are capable of such deep strategy — and again points the needle of suspicion at a government intelligence agency in a nation inimical to India or renegades within such a bureau.
If the terrorists are interested in something, how come they have not made any demands in spite of having taken so many hostages? If they kept the hostages for so long, they should have started negotiations also. This indicates that they have some other, larger ultimate objective. What is that, and has it been investigated?
The Deccan Mujahideen may or may not be a valid front. Has the Andhra Pradesh police and security forces started investigating that? What are the results of that?
Has there been any additional discussion on the terrorists who might have escaped into Bombay city, apart from these three locations? If the dead terrorists had blueprints of the major areas in the city, it means that they might launch an attack on these locations after the Taj, Oberoi and Colaba encounters are over. Have the police been investigating this, and has there been any safety precautions? The names of these places should be circulated, and civilians asked to refrain from going to those locations, so that casualties can be at a minimum. When will this be done? Why did the terrorists not blow up the full building itself? What can be the reason for this? I do not believe that they do not have the ammunition for that or planning. I believe if they wanted they could have done it.
What is the Navy doing around the Colaba area? Why is it not monitoring or keeping a check on what goes on in the seas just below its nose?
Why doesn't Mumbai have enough fire ladders or other equipment which can put out fires like the ones set at the Taj?
Even in a terrorist attack why are most of our constabulary seen with antique rifles and without bulletproof attire?
Why are civilians seen in and around the affected areas in spite of a curfew call?
Why do the best hotels in Mumbai have such pathetic security?
Are the CCTV records of the hotels available?
Assuming such large quantities of weapons had been pre-stored in the hotels, is there any security system to search these bags while being taken to the hotel?
Are there any missing hotel staff after the attack?
How come the terrorists were able to fight for more then 40 hours? This is very clear that all these people got the arms and weapons ready on site in advance. Isn't this a question on the qualification and intelligence of our police and all other security agencies?
Manmohan Singh has claimed that this terror attack has been executed by external forces. What proof has the government got in order to make such a claim? Every time a situation like this happens, the government of India makes such claims and then they give no proof to anyone, especially the common people who are always kept in dark.
Whether there are terrorists holed up in other parts of Mumbai and surroundings, as they were inside those targeted hotels? What action is necessary for those hiding terrorists in other parts, right now unknown to us?
How did they procure AK-56 rifles? What action is necessary which need to be taken for controling smuggling of these weapons inside Indian territory?
Are we planning to carry out operations inside Pakistan where the terrorists' headquarters are firmly believed to be located, if Pakistan cannot capture those responsible and as we have every right for pre-emptive action?
Whether we will take help of the Pakistan government and other countries in conducting such secret operations inside Pakistan to capture terrorists, as the United States is doing presently inside Pakistan if their weak system cannot achieve this? SOURCE: REDIFF.com
I got it in my email.

JODHA AKBAR

In the last one month I have seen many movies , but I got lazy and didnt write anything about them but Yesterday I saw Jodha Akbar and loved almost everything about it.....yeah everything even Aishwarya:)...though there is one scene where any other good actress would have done wonders....like where she watches Hritik exercising, her face doesnt show much, but over all she is very sweet everywhere and Hritik is flawless as usual.
BUT what pained me a lot and made me sad was watching Rajput killing in the beginning, and the character of Bhairon singh..Jodha's father..such a spineless person, Rajput are not like that, and what made it worse was, Kulbhushan Kharbanda..may be if it was played by some other good actor.would have been tolerable. In worst circumstances, Rajput may bow, but they never loose their dignity and here this person was looking like a peon and the same about her mother...Suhasini mulay..i cant imagine a Rajputani suggesting her daughter to cheat--Rajput are known for their AAN BAAN SHAAN, they were grand even in their fall. Can we ever forget Padmini or Rana Pratap?
Then i have a big grouse against the historians who glamourised a Mughal, arent we being too generous to call an invader--AKBAR THE GREAT.Our own people like Rana pratap had to eat the rotis of grass and his children died of hunger and why? because of Akbar. An outsider comes here, rules us and just because he is a little more kind than others and is not very cruel should we support him.Where is our SWARAJYA? Then we shouldnt blame the Britishers even, because some of them were very good and did something good for our country and people. Why do we highlight only Akbar, Tipu, why not Shivaji,Ranapratap,Handa raani, Padmini. I can never forget that Mughals invaded us ,looted our property and women, destroyed our monuments, even On Kutub Minar it is written that it was a hindu structure or something like that converted into a minar. But we never understand..like Pakistan is helping the terrorists against us and our products are being endorsed by Pakistanis...i wud never buy anything they endorse.
BTW I never read any statement by--Shabana Azmi, Amar Singh, Raj Thackerey, Dilip Kumar on Mumbai terrorist strike? May be not important enough for them.
Jodha Akbar is good as a love story between different religions but given historic relevance--though they dont claim to be realist, but once u name them Jodha and Akbar...it gets its history automatically.

BACK TO BLOG:)

I am back after along vacation or should I say from a lot of pampering and attention:). When even after 32 yrs of marriage, i get so much of love, affection and caring from my family, I know what is family and why one should do everything for this. Its really worth it.To give and take this type of love, everybody has to do a lot, but the end result is that we get more than we bargained for:).For me it works as a tonic and very refreshing to know that there are whole lot of people who love u so much, and it gives me strength to love many more people without expecting the same love in return.
One more thing i would like to say is that normally people think that film star cant be good politicians..but here is an exception..JayaPrada..my home town is her constituency and i was very pleasantly surprised to listen to what people say about her......she has done the most for that place, she is a working politician.....she is very polite and in spite of being a glamorous heroine, she travels widely in her constituency in heat and dust, eats very little when on tour( here some people may be unhappy as they also dont get much because of that:). Public is very happy with her work.
For last one month i tried every north indian dish from raj kachori to chaat to malai makhan all that. I read lot of Hindi literature also--like...Premchand, Jayshankar prasad and sharat chandra. I had some serious observations also but will write about them some other time:)

WINTER IN NORTH

I am in Lucknow and I am telling you about few of my observations and few people I met.
I met a lady who was grief stricken because her daughter....a young achiever in her own right , may not get married into their own caste. She was feeling so humiliated with just a thought of that------how much their society will condemn them and all that and want her daughter to give a thought to marriage and stop pursuing her career so seriously........I was wondering...why such a budding career is being snubbed , and getting brickbats instead of appreciation.....
And then I met a lady of 75 yrs who is living alone and kept 10-12 girls as PG , and she is now very active and enjoying life:)...way to go......
At the distance of around 15-18 km from Lucknow, on Barabanki road is a DARGAH-----of Waaris Ali Shah. The beauty of this sacred place lies in its secularity..there were more Hindu visitors than Muslims. And I felt that when we can have so much of mutual acceptance at a religious place, why not in personal life also?
Now Lucknow has changed so much, specially Gomti nagar area, i wonder..why dont we have any BPO centres or Software companies there, why cant for once our politicians think of developing UP?
When I come to north in winter, I love eating peanuts ,sitting outside in the sun and having endless cups of tea........

FEMALE POINT SYSTEM

In the world of romance, one single rule applies to men:
Make the woman happy.
Do something she likes, and you get points.
Do something she dislikes and points are subtracted.
You don't get any points for doing something she expects. Sorry, that's the way the game is played.
Here is a guide to the point system:
SIMPLE DUTIES
You make the bed (+1)
You make the bed, but forget the decorative pillow (0)
You throw the bedspread over rumpled sheets (-1)
You go out to buy her what she wants (+5) ,
In the rain (+8)But return with Beer (-5)
You check out a suspicious noise at night (0)
You check out a suspicious noise, and it is nothing (0)
You check out a suspicious noise and it is something (+5)
You pummel it with iron rod (+10)
It's her pet (-10)
SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS
You stay by her side the entire party (0)
You stay by her side for a while, then leave to chat with a college buddy (-2) Named Rita (-4) Rita is a dancer (-6) Rita is single and is really beautiful (-80)
HER BIRTHDAY
You forget her birthday (-50000)
You take her out to dinner (0)
You take her out to dinner and it's not a sports bar (+1)
Okay, it's a sports bar (-2)
And it's all-you-can- eat night (-3)
It's a sports bar, it's all-you-can- eat night, and your face is painted the colours of your favourite team (-10)

GOING ON VACATION

Now a days Chennai has a pleasant weather, i have done a lot of shopping and my cook is coming............ Life cudnt be more bliss than that:)...........and to top it all i am going to make a month long trip to my home town --- isnt it strange that we women may be married for 32 yrs and still we call our parents home our hometown:....when i got married, one our friend commented on this-----yaar yeh ladies kitne bhi saal ho jaaye shaadi ko fir bhi aise hi kahengi---hmaare yaahn aisa hota ha waisa hota ( how many yrs u may be married but women always use my home for their parents home) though it is a different matter altogether that parents always used to consider the girls as PARAYA DHAN.

In my time parents used to say for everything--go to ur Sasural( in-laws) and do whatever u want as if inlaws are going to be more accommodating than parents:). And at inlaws whatever u did..may be right but wrong according to them.....has ur mother taught you this only? and it was enough to make girl fiercely protective towards her mother and start defending or attacking whatever came to her.

Now when i think with an unbiased mind..again according to me:),

is it really worth defending ur parents when their ultimate motive was to get u married off any how?

Does the life run according to rights and wrongs?

What is better---bringing peace in the family and living harmoniously or sticking to the righteousness?

Isnt sometimes better to be selfish and look after ur family , because sometimes certain duties in life make ur own life very unpleasant.

If there is a conflict between two relationships whom shud one choose and what should be the criteria?

I have seen many girls and boys even facing unpleasantness in their families due to their extreme attachment to their parents, so is the attachment wrong? what is the parameter to judge all these things?

If ever u r on the cross roads where on one side is ur children's safe future, a family and on the other side is ur identity-.............?

i am leaving all these questions open to my readers to tell me what they think, I havent found perfect answers for all these things so far.

But now i see the trend is changing:)

THE LAW OF THE GARBAGE TUCK

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks takeover their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,so...Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a blessed, garbage-free day!

A WEEK OF FESTIVITIES

This last wek has been extremely busy one for me, as we have so many festivals in this fortnight
SHARAD POORNIMA-- I made some kheer and left it out in the moon light for the night, to be eaten next morning. It is considered to be good for health.AHOI ASHTAMI--on this day I do the fast for the health, wealth and long life of my children( actually earlier women used to do it for the boys only but i always did it for my children---daughter and son both). In the veenong we do pooja AHOI MATA and I make sweet and salted KHANKRI , and to compliment it i make all the pther things also sometimes chola and dahi bada, golguppa.
DHANTERAS---This is the day for shopping, so we buy something and went to wish a few people. Buying something today is considered auspicious.
CHOTI DIWALI---We light 21 diyas this day and do pooja and decoration of the house.
here in Chennai--all the celebration is done on this day, as the next day is amavasya and women fast---I asked a girl.....dont u question this tradition why only girls fast not boys? She replied--nobody is asking us or compelling us, this is the tradition , and we follow it happily and voluntarily.
DIWALI---- We celebrate the return of Lord Rama from his 14 yrs exile to his home.So on this day we make sweets, bring crackers, dresses and all that. And we worship Lord ganesha and Godess lakshmi. Ganpati is always worshipped first while doing any pooja, he removes the hurdles in life and brings harmony and wellness. While laksmi is the goddess of prosperity.
This year while going to friends places wishing them, taking sweets, we went to wish to NETHAJI MERCY HOME also, we took the dresses for all the children and chips ( actually they said dont bring sweets). The children there are so nice, well mannered and lovable. It gives me immense pleasure to watch them, meet them..
I am puting up a few photographs of crackers, rest tomorrow:)
Today we will do all pooja of Laksmi Ganesh and all that in the eveningThis is my diwali:), so much fun, how was yours?
WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS DIWALI ! ENJOY THE FESIVAL OF LIGHTS!

MY OBSERVATIONS

  • So many preconceived notions we have though slowly people are changing and in few things girls are hell bent upon changing the mindset of people:) I want to know why, why people think like that? These are few observations which are coming to my mind now and i have noticed them.........
  • Why a girl who is fashionable cant be brainy also?
  • why we always want men drivers? (cant put our life in the hands of a girl)
  • and in the house maid servants are prefered?
  • In my house whenevr any LIC agent or MF ppl come they want to talk to my H only, though i am equally knowledgable about finance and investments?
  • why people say--maruti is a girl's car,as if car is driven by physical force?
  • Scooter is for girls and bike for boys?
  • Why it is said that beauty and brains dont go together(nobody says that handsome boys cant be intelligent).
  • why in the movies, as long as the girl is bad she wears mod dresses, the day she starts changing, she comes to saree or salwar kameez? is the dress so important or what is inside?
  • Why a son-in-law, who takes his wife for vacations and pampers is a godsend gift but a DIL who wants to go out and be pampered is spoiled?
  • why if a woman sacrifices and does something for the society she is hailed as a great person, but doing the same thing for her family....and the family is exploiting her.
  • A girl is more adept at cooking and stitching॥means all these things while worldwide best designers, tailors and chef are men:)।
  • adding a few more
------------ The list can go on, but i want you people to add it your observations, so come on ,tell me......
adding a few more----and i am guilty of this----any technical problem...ask Papa, my daugher changed this attitude of mine, when she did her masters in computers she said--ma i can do this, and slowly slowly she cud do any and evrything and i realised that for most of the works, instead of physical strenght , sharp mind and patience is more required and gender has nothing to do with it:)
One more....anybodyganwar,simple and a villager is a good hearted honest person, and well dressed smart urban people are not.
anyon less educated or not at all is always better in everything than an educated girl---these are all filmy perceptions:)
