FROZEN THOUGHTS

Recently our association has started a library in the premises and I have volunteered for their work as library is my favourite place.Earlier in early 80's also I was looking after a library and I read so many good and rare books there, then in next decade I ran my own library and now this. Just looks like god always takes care of our interests.

Here I came to know about a magazine..Frozen thoughts..I never saw it earlier, but this is an amazing one with unique ideas and very interesting too.First one i read, then I wanted  to quote so many things, then I thought that this way i would be quoting a full magazine. So i will share few thoughts which I liked...

First that why we keep our priorities vertically, why not horizontally, because few things in life are equally important, nothing more , nothing less. Like I keep getting mails saying that family is more important than career or job, but i dont agree with that. Its job only which keeps the family happy and one survives due to job only. Earning makes our relationships also much better. So many things become easier when one is in a job which satisfies him/her financially and professionally. A happy person can keep the family also happy. Our day to day survival depends on the money earned, so one must never ignore the career.

Second one is that so many times we listen..see that doctor is very nice person..that teacher is so cordial with the children...her parents are so friendly.....his boss is very sweet and kind hearted.
.but we need a good doctor, not a nice person. We must always go to a doctor who is good in his profession, being nice may be his secondary quality not the first one.
And a teacher must be knowledgeable and good in teaching first, then cordial.
Parents should do well as parents  first and look after their children's welfare, character, education, manners everything and then be friendly.
And seniors need to see that work is done,if they let the dead wood remain there, they are harming the organisation and cant be termed good.
What i mean to say first do efficiently what is your prime responsibilities, then try to excel in others.and the same thing applies to relationship...
Children must learn to respect the parents first, and then comes caring and loving.
Parents must inculcate values in children, polish them and then try to be friendly.

and whatever the boundaries everywhere should be maintained, one must never cross that.

Life is not that simple.Priorities are set by one self, not by others.Keep values, and teach your children as well.

You must see a good doctor, true. But he has to be approachable as well. So,one will look for a good and kind doctor.Being good at work alone may not save you. There are times when you need kindness and times when you need skills.
If you learn to respect some one,the rest of things will follow. If children love and care for their parents, don't you think they will respect them as well?

The other day I was logging into yahoo and seen something interesting. There they were asking questions like, "what makes your spouse happy". I started thinking, beer, bikes, star wars, PS3 games, so on and so forth. I asked my husband, "what makes you happy". He thought for a moment and said that his happiness doesn't depend one anything but himself. I never thought that he could be philosophic. Job, family, friends, PS3 games...everything together makes our life happy. Can we live life without one of them? perhaps...but the quality will lessen/improve. So, i think everything depends on our state of mind. I am ranting...

Exactly, but now a days i see people going to teachers just to get an extra edge and sometimes teachers also sees who visits him/her frequently. Even in my college there was a teacher(Sorry for pulling down the image of teachers, i really hate to say this.) who wasnt interested in infusing knowledge but rahter being amiable with us. He should always remember his prioroties first then good things follow automatically.
And thanks for telling about this beautiful magzine. :)

Thoughts forever: I haven read harmony, now i will chk it..I just love reading, and specially the ones who give some insight.

Dr. Antony: yes you are right, what i meant to say is that a doctor who is just polite wont do, first he has to be agood doctor..first be good in you main area and add value to that by being polite etc.
About the children..I see many today who love and care about their parents but are very rude in their behaviour, so there....

Madhu: yes madhu..everything together make us happy,no one thing can be sufficient, and then happiness is a state of mind thats also true.

Tara: even I nevr heard of it, but now when I knew, I saw it in Neelgiri also:)

My journey:..I agree with you when you say...He should always remember his prioroties first then good things follow automatically..I have seen many teachers without scruples. and today only I read about one caning a student in Kolkota and the student comitted suicide:(

Wow, a library in the premises..how lovely! Lucky you, Renu. Here thats one thing I miss..the presence of a good library!

As for your points, I agree we need to learn to prioritize our responsibilities.

Renu, reading this post reminded me of the library we...a group of friends...had started with our contributions. But had to close it and later the books were distributed among us. Later on I started a Children's Library at home but had to close this down as it was difficult to run it single handedly.
'Frozen Thought's, a nice name...never heard of this before.
A thoughtful read.

Great post.. never heard of the magazine.. but that is so true.. especially for the teachers point.. I have seen a live example to that.. my fav teacher is very strict and never friendly but still I admire him because he is very knowledgeable and his teaching is what made me fall in love with the subject..

Deeps: Wherevr I stay library is the first thing I look for.give me books and I can stay in a jungle:)

Gauri Guha:..I also started once my circulative library from my home, and it was so succesful that it turned into a full fledged one.

Chitra: yes Parents have to really work hard if they want to inculcate values.

Bikram: i am sorry that I didnt get your comment the first time.To me library is the only thing where distance is not measured:)..actually I cant live without books.

Sandhya: yes I also feel that i am lucky, I was thinking about joinging that library on 100 ft road, and then this came up..

Dreamer...In Chennai, I have seen it in Neelgiri stores...This magazine is totally different from the ones I read.

Meghana:Welcome here ! I will chk it and then let you know.

Evanescentthoughts:..I also liked the thought process, that one must be good in one's primary profession and then add value by being nice.
