MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN

The movie starts with a fight between Luv(Ali Jaffer) and his girl friend Piyali Patel in London and they break up after a long relationship of 5 years and then calls his brother Kush( Imran) in India to find him a girl, as he wants to marry and settle down. And the search starts and they find it is not so easy..Then thru some advt, they come across Dimple( katrina ) who  has lived in London all the time and is a total Bindaas girl who is misunderstood in India..both point of views are very good like...
in India any girl who is carefree and wears mini or Western clothes is considered easy and slut and everybody thinks that she could sleep with everyone.
Every country has its own culture and sensibilities and there is nothing wrong or right in them, but one has to either live accordingly or bear the consequences.
She is chosen and the preparation starts and suddenly it dawns on both..Kush and Dimple , that they are in love..and now the movie is all about their planning about getting each other in a respectable way.

The movies is good, Imran's understated acting always is so endearing and katrina has also done it very well, except a few places where she is over the top.
All in all worth a watch:)

But don't you think the story has been repeated quite a few times - Pardes, Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon???? When will they stop making the same kind of movies.

I still enjoy if the treatment is different..stories will be same as most of the time life brings similar situations, but how people react..now that can be different.

story is as usual.
havent seen the movie.

About still in India males think Female is their Property.

No one has right to decide what female can wear only her parents got the right to advice her.

I usually like romantic hindi movies but this one somehow didnt do anything for me.
For instance I didnt like the way they conned the elder brother once they realised they love eachother. The acting & comedy was good but the story was not.

sm;.yes no one can decide, but the sensibilities and culture of the place should be kept in mind..like arab countries.it would be unwise to roam around scantily dressed.

Purvi:..yes light entertainment.

Reflections:.yes conning the brother was wrong, but otherwise there wouldnt be a movie..that was the story....

Renu,,
thanks.
In arab countries females follow the rules because of fear of death by stonning or beating with stick in public.
In arab countries also females are trying to revolt.

The story line is weak!

sm: its human tendency to follow anything from fear only:)

I dont like indecent exposure, we have a good culture why not follow it?

A; yes she is:)

deeps: isaw one movie with a similar theme..sorry bhai, and didnt like that because there it was love marriage and then fatal attraction..i couldnt accept that .

Rachna: Thanks rachna..its a good time pass..
