Daughters are always so special !!

There is this story running around face book, emails and everybody is just ooooh  aaah..ing...daughters are so special and all that...first read it:)

On the first day of their marriage, wife and husband decided and agreed not to open the door for anyone! On that day first, husband’s parents came to see them, they were behind the door. Husband and the wife looked at each other, husband wanted to open the door, but since they had an agreement he did not open the door, so his parents left. After a while the same day , wife’s parents came , wife and the husband looked at each other and even though they had an agreement , wife with tears on her eyes whispered , I can’t do this to my parents , and she opened the door. Husband did not say anything, years passed and they had 4 boys and the fifth child was a girl. The father, planned a very big party for the new born baby girl, and he invited everyone over. Later that night his wife asked him what was the reason for such a big celebration for this baby while we did not do it for the others! The Husband simply replied, because she is the one who will open the door for me!

Daughters are always so special !!

But is all our interpretation and what we want to see..like for me...

Here the wife is not a good human being...because she differentiates so much between two sets of PARENTS and she is not kind to everybody
secondly she is not trustworthy because she doesnt follow the commitments..she made a pact with her husband but when it came to her personal feelings she didnt follow, for me a commitment is commitment, once I promise something to anyone I will do that irrespective of results...

Whereas husband is a good man..he follows what he says and suffers( when his parents are not allowed.
He felt hurt but didnt rebuke his wife and lived long with her, though he didnt forget that incident...

so who is to be idolised?

I am not saying daughters are not special..I have a daughter and she is very special to me, not because she loves me but because she she love me and besides that she is a good human being... She may or may not love her inlaws(all will depend on the other side also) but she would never be disrespectful or rude  to them and wont give them grief..

What do you think?....

With all the reactions..one thing i realised that even husband is not good, he is a coward, one should always do the right thing in life irrespective of consequences..

Interesting question. For me a boy or a girl both are to be loved in equal measure. In their upbringing give them equal opportunity to build their own identity.

Thanks and regards.

An interesting story and wise perspective.

Irrespective of the relationships, i believe we should love and respect fellow humans.

For me children and parents (mine and his) are special.

Hello.

Thanks for stopping by.

It's a nice story.
Like you say, it depends on an individual's outlook.

However, it is bad that the man could refuse to open the doors to his own parents. That's unforgivable !

I wonder if there can be a bench mark, a yard stick to claim the special status for daughters.

However, what I have seen often points to the fact that women ( girls) show a distinct element of special treatment , consideration for their folks ( parents) over that of the husbands.

Besides this aberration , as I would prefer to call it, it is not wise to decide that girl child is better than a son or vice versa.

Interesting read, I have not seen this story on fb or email before. Thanks for sharing. The story made me a little sad on the way the husband behaved.

Yes that's me :)

Even I felt like this when I read this story a couple of days back. The daughter should have allowed both the parents. Respect should be given to both the parents.

Husband might be a darpoke!

chai a cup of life: yes, he should have acted..

Sandhya: true Sandhya, he was a coward..

Ashwini CN; exactly and then none of them comes out as special..

Personally, I don't think both of us would ever come to such a decision, irrespective of our personal likes and dislikes of each other's parents.
For us both are children bring us joy and there is no difference between the two, nor is there any difference in their outlook towards us too.

I didn't read the story on FB..read it here though...OMG..you thought so much about it? I would have just read and passed it :) Well, I think it depends on how you look at it. Women are always more sensitive than men. Either at heart or showing emotions...so...

What you have written is true. There are different perspectives to this story. Not all daughters take care of parents and not all sons throw their parents outside.

Rama Ananth..that would be ideal..wish many people have that attitude..

Found in folsum: even my daughter said the same thing..actually i felt irritated not by the story b, but by the commentators:)

Avada Kedavra..Exactly, we shouyld stop this generalising..

deeps:..I follow what I feel right and I hope rest of us also think on the same lines:)

Anil Kurup:Man and woman are made differently, though this generation refuses to believe it..so boy care in their own way and girls in their style..we cant compare apple and orange..
To me my both the children are very special:)
