OUR MISSION

With reference to my last post and after reading so many blogs about terrorist attack, I have seen that everybody is puzzled, scared ,enraged, confused looking for a solution. But for a problem so grave we cant have any overnight solution, but after thinking a lot I have come to the conclusion that for a long term solution......we must start a JIHAD that....
In whatever professions we are..we will do our jobs most sincerely and honestly.
We will take all the decisions in our life, thinking about the right values, not personal interests.
We shall not take or give bribe even if our work is delayed.
We shall not take short cuts in life..never.
We shall vote,come what may.
we shall never shirk from the responsibilities.
If we spread these values and people start following it.....there will be a drastic change in everything.. terrorist cant bribe anyone to get info or entry, cant take any arms, weapon inside, leaders will be accountable and doing their job seriously, all states will prosper leaving no scope for making the unemployed youth vulnerable to exploitation from our enemies. Instead of blaming this and that we should reform ourselves, leaders also come from us only. May be in this Jihad we will loose a little money , a few opportunities here and there, but the end result will be worth more than anything...we will make our country a beautiful place to live in for our children.
One very day..to..day example i can give is ....We think that by giving bribe(donations) to a school admission, we are doing it for a better future of our child...But I think we are starting their life with a bribe....are we ready to sacrifice that?
In India we dont have any shortage of anything neither talent nor money, but the irony is....those who are responsible are not honest and development doesnt happen a regular pace..
Lets start a mission......from ourselves....pledge to do all.... and if we cant do that, then we must brace ourselves and be ready to face many more attacks and stop whining, complaining and blaming others.

Dear Renu,

Nice post - with a simple, yet very powerful message! I agree with everything you've said. Attending to one's civic duties and focusing primarily on one's social responsibilities (rather than political rights or economic condition) is the need of the hour.

U might be interested in this blog - http://pakteahouse.wordpress.com. I find it an objective view from a few of Pakistan's moderate diaspora. We must understand that the common Indian and the common Pakistani face the same issues and enemy.

STRAY: I read that particular post because YOU suggested it, otherwise I never read any blog by Pakistani..not because I hate them, but because I dont believe them, they say something and do something else. I for one cant believe that this type of terrorist can take shelter there and all that if the public their doesnt want them.I dont believe in their facade of niceness or being straight or friendly with India. They have betrayed us so many times, that in my lifetime i wud find it very difficult to trust them, rather i believe in making my HOME strong, instead of blaming others or fearing others, we must put our all energy into making us efficient, removing all the holes in our walls, why waste energy reading and worrying about their point of view or how they think. Its immaterial to us.We should do what is right for us.I strongly believe that Pakistan cant do anything without help from GADDARS within us, we have to find those jaichands.

Very nice post Renu.
But I would say give some benefit of doubt to the common Pakistani. Everyone is Pakistan is not a terrorist or a terrorist supporter. Most of them are common folks working to make their ends meet. And it is very refreshing to read something from their perspective.
Even if (and I honestly don't think you should) you treat every Pakistani as an enemy, you still should be open to reading what they have to say. Because you fight best when you know your enemy inside out and know how he thinks. :)
But again, there are tonnes of things wrong with Pakistan, but not everyone who is in that country is worth our wrath.

REBEL: How long can we keep giving them the benefit of doubt. U dont know, but in 71 war we captured 90000 POW and looked after them so well , they were so well fed that everybody used to joke abt them and look what they did to our soldiers in Kaargil war and other POW.
I am not angry with them ,but i am INDIFFERENT to them, may be here my personality is like this:) i will tolerate every nonsense from everybody to the max. but once I turn my back
.,..that is I become indifferent then, they dont exist for me, cant give them any importance:)
Seriously i want to say why give them so much of importance...
like read their views,
blame them for attacks or OUR problems.
why worry that all of them are not terrorists or bad...
leave them alone, look after ur own house.

That's a very nice pledge Ma! I believe one should also give back to the society. That would also make a lot of difference as it will lead to more progress.

I'd recently read a similar post on someone else's blog, and I'm just going to say the same thing I did there, one of my favourite quotes by MK Gandhi: be the change you want to see.

Which is exactly what you have also written.

We cannot force others to change or act in a particular way, but definitely we can do the right thing in our lives. I think that by seeing us practice what we preach, at least some effect will rub off on other people.

SHALOM: u r right.I am very particular that...we pay taxes, have never ever used electricity without paying(very commomn thing to use more ACs and not pay accordingly),nevr let anything come into my house, whenevr I had least of the doubt that person was trying to please my H for some vested interests, i always believe that wives play a major role in bribes, by getting greedy for freebies.and taught the same values to my chilkdren..never to compromise on values for money.

Good n bad are co-existent. Thats how the world is! Be it one's country or in a family, you find all varieties of people.

We lack talent n money. Talent cos none considers it worth wasting their lifetime in our country n there's no infrastructure to overcome existing problems. Even small countries like Singapore/Malaysia have much better infrastructure n policies than ours.

Manasa: U sound very pessimistic:), it frustrates me too that small countries have every thing better, but therein itslef lies the reason...our population explosion negates our growth. I still believe we have enough talent and resources..what is required is will ,honesty and sincerity to do the job.
