After living together for 8 years, when he ditches her and tries to marry another girl,....girl accuses the boy of rape
when i read this news I was appalled. This is so ridiculous. In the beginning why people started this trend of live in relationships? Because they thought ...why bind ourselves in marriage, if we are not compatible, so lets try living together. The first and foremost advantage of these relationships is that the couple is free with no responsibilities and so it suits modern generation best.
And now they want some conditions..its like having your cake and eating it too..if one wants some commitment, why not marry. You dont marry because you dont want a commitment and some responsibilities which comes with marriage...
In the beginning I never liked those live in relationships, but today when I see the rate people are divorcing, I feel its better to live in first than marry. But once a couple decides to live in, they should also be free to leave that arrangement whenever they want too... otherwise it looses its advantages....when we choose freedom, we must accept all that which comes with it..freedom is both ways..to us and to others...
and on top of that court denies bail to the boy...slowly and slowly the fall out of modern thinking is visible..people will realise the consequences of their ultra modern thinking.

This came in the NYTimes in April:
Couples who cohabit before marriage tend to be less satisfied with their marriages — and more likely to divorce — than couples who do not.
If the "practical minded" couples want to see how it works between them before marrying, Live-In is a miserable failure.
I agree with you ..but after watching AAMIRS show satyamev jayate .I believe whts happening is for good cuz indian women suffers a lot so why not move and get rid of all the tensions ...
GOD BLESS !
These issues are very complex. As our society is hurtling towards ,progress or whatever, moral issues are coming up for discussion in the open.
And women are taking advantage of law and sympathy.
Uptake: any system will be a failure, if people want to be self centred only.
Harman:..I am not saying dont walk away..rather both should be free..here people are going for live in with that freedom, but later one they want to curve it for their self interest..thats what I am Opposing..
Vetrimagal:yes and we must oppose anyone taking undue advantage without any consideration for the gender.
Renu, everything in life comes with commitment on all sides including love! Otherwise what is the difference between humans and animals as even they procreate and enjoy life!
yepp if anyone can take advantage or thinks they can get away with it THEY WILL.. a perfect example of bias in our law towards female gender..
I hope we as a nation can stand together and have the guts to say what is what .. if its wrong then irrespective of the gender we Say its wrong ...
Bikram's
I have to agree with Vetrimagal's comment.
Frequently we see women- particularly educated and well-off women- taking advantage of laws which are in their favour.
On the other hand, those women without influence or education are unable to use these same laws even when they need to.
It's a sad situation.
I don't think I like the concept of a live in. Why not get married legally. And a live in for 8 years. Phew!!! I was shocked when I read the article. Don't you think she was better off divorced?
Renu: What I cant understand is why the participants of live in relationship imposes rules! If they want rules then they should get married and be safe guarded by laws. Here the lady has no right to accuse of rape since she agreed to live in and share heself with this guy.
Earlier the court also ruled that children out of live-in relationship should be provided assistance. If this is the case why should there be an institution called marriage. One enters into a contract when getting married and is ready to take the risk associated with it but the live-in relationship poses no such risks and less responsibilities.
But as one commentator said, it may go well with women who otherwise cannot escape from a relationship. but for this to happen she should stop harassing the man. But then it is ironic that even in such a relationship the women seems to getting the bad bargain!
Rahul Bhatia: exactly the same I keep saying..what is the difference between us and animals, if we go for self gratification only..
Bikram: I feel sorry to say that today it is fashionable to bash the men, and side with the women...its the in thing..who sees the rights and wrongs, till it happens to their own people.
Manju: true..thats why when bloggers who are all educated and mostly in privileged conditions try to show a martyr image or as the exploited ones, I feel frustrated..
Happy kitten..Its a typical case of modern women having their cake and eat it too...
When one enters an open relationship both must be free to opt out, but when a boy exercises his freedom he is accused of rape..here a woman is not getting a raw deal, instead she is exploiting her gender, she doesnt want him out..
Absolutely agree, when one is willing to explore the newer ways by breaking the conventions then one should also be prepared to face the fall outs.
Kanupriya: exactly..but most of the people want to take advantage only..
Agree with Manju here, that the laws meant to help women in real need are being twisted to suit women in privileged conditions looking for lifestyle changes.
@Rahul: animals don't mate and part or rape and ravish as humans tend to. We are the lowliest of all animals in this respect.
Youth today are not willing to compromise, make sacrifices and be willing to give and get love for the sake of love, everything is conditional
Zephyr:we are getting selfish day by day and loosing all ethics..we cant live for ourselves only.
if it's wrong, it's wrong. it doesn't matter what gender committed the mistake .. unbiased law should be there so that justice can be given in a fair way!!!
Rahul Aggarwal:but it nevr happens..people have certain biases..its always boys who are wrong, its always inlaws who harrass and its always girls parents who sacrifice a lot for bringing up their daughter..there are so many like that...
