HOLDING HANDS--WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU

Now You must be thinking what this photo says..its about holding hands..Yes that is tag and I am tagged by Deeps. This is a very unique tag, and I sat over it for a long time also, wondering what to write. Now i am not going to look for the meaning of this, rather going to tell you what it means for me.

The very first holding of hand in anyone's life is always from parents, but I dont remember my parents ever holding my hand. My father being a businessman was always very busy, so much so that if ever we planned an evening show for movies ( you know that is the one thing which has made me fight with everyone, I was addicted to movies, my ultimate idea of entertainment in my young days:), we were lucky if we could watch night show, and my mother being in a joint family was always busy in the house. So i remember only either servants or my grandpa holding my hand and taking me to fete or evening walk (and on the way telling me stories about people and virtues) and in those days holding hand meant to me that I wont get lost:)..so it was security.

Then in the college, since I was an introvert(yeah:)and a bookworm, though its hard to believe now, even for me:), could never be very close to friends, my best friends were my bua and mausi and my books. and after marriage my H, then children and now my siblings.:).With all of them it meant companionship , doing things together, sharing good and bad of life and advising too:)

For me holding a hand means
.....I am there for you, come what may,
.....I will solve all your problems......(must be wondering how a human being can be that grand, but yes I need that moral support always, earlier my father gave me and then my brother.), now-a days i have many supports..my H,my BIL (sister's husband), my son and daughter, but still my brother remains that rock solid support, to whom I can turn to for any and everything.
......So what if you have made a mistake, everything can be rectified.
.........Nothing of ....I told you that:).. I hate that line:), ..No hate is a very strong word, but yes it irritates me a lot.
For my children...I held their hand in guiding them thru all walks of life...it was guidance, I am the type of mother who had guidelines for each and everything in their life, and they stood them good all the time. or most of the time, Of course now I have stopped those:). In a way i still hold their hand and will always do so.. as I will be always there for them....... Yesterday i saw a line in serial Balika Badhu and liked it that .........shaadi ke baad betiyan paraayi ho jaati ha, lekin ma baap kabhi paraaye nahi hote.........of course it not valid for today's girls:)
I am very scared of crossing the road, so now when my son takes my hand and helps me in that, understanding my fear, it is an assurance that he understands me and loves me.
Recently i went endoscopy and I held the hand of my doctor so tightly that my fingernails must have cut into her palm:) and that was also assurance, faith in her.I thought as long as she is there , i have nothing to fear.
So I think holding a hand is mostly about assurance, whether you are giving it to your parents, children, friends or companion, that you are there for them.

And please there is no compulsion to do it or any limit of time. I want everybody to enjoy the tags as I do:). I have two more tags pending and will be doing them soon. and Thank you Deeps..it was lovely tag !
I would like to end this post with fun:).. here it is....and source is...email

One day while walking down the street a highly successful Human Resources Manager was tragically hit by a bus and she died. Her soul arrived up in heaven where she was met at the Pearly Gates by St. Peter himself. "Welcome to Heaven," said St. Peter. "Before you get settled in though, it seems we have a problem. You see, strangely enough, we've never once had a Human Resources Manager make it this far and we're not really sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," said the woman.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have higher orders. What we're going to do is let you have a day in Hell and a day in Heaven and then you can choose whichever one you want to spend an eternity in." "Actually, I think I've made up my mind, I prefer to stay in Heaven", said the woman"Sorry, we have rules..."
And with that St. Peter put the executive in an elevator and it went down-down-down to hell.
The doors opened and she found herself stepping out onto the putting green of a beautiful golf course. In the distance was a country club and standing in front of her were all her friends - fellow executives that she had worked with and they were well dressed in evening gowns and cheering for her. They ran up and kissed her on both cheeks and they talked about old times. They played an excellent round of golf and at night went to the country club where she enjoyed an excellent steak and lobster dinner. She met the Devil who was actually a really nice guy (kindOf cute) and she had a great time telling jokes and dancing. She was having such a good time that before she knew it, it was time to leave. Everybody shook her hand and waved goodbye as she got on the elevator.
The elevator went up-up-up and opened back up at the Pearly Gates and found St. Peter waiting for her."Now it's time to spend a day in heaven," he said.
So she spent the next 24 hours lounging around on clouds and playing the harp and singing. She had great time and before she knew it her 24 hours were up and St. Peter came and got her. "So, you've spent a day in hell and you've spent a day in heaven. Now you must choose your eternity,
"The woman paused for a second and then replied, "Well, I never thought I'd say this, I mean, Heaven has been really great and all, but I think I had a better time in Hell."
So St. Peter escorted her to the elevator and again she went down-down-down back to Hell. When the doors of the elevator opened she found herself standing in a desolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. She saw her friends were dressed in rags and were picking up the garbage and putting it in sacks. The Devil came up to her and put his arm around her."I don't understand," stammered the woman, "yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and a country club and we ate lobster and we danced and had a great time. Now all there is a wasteland of garbage and all my friends look miserable." The Devil looked at her smiled and told...
