Rhine Falls

Rhine Falls is one hour drive from Zurich, in the northern Switzerland and on the way we crossed some place in Germany too.In Switzerland travelling is as beautiful and enjoyable as the destination. When we reached there we saw that they have made little park for children , skywalks  where they can go from one place to other via ropes .....straight distance and up and down too. Then  when we were going down to see the fall we saw and Indian eatery and I was surprised to see him selling Idli chatney, samosa, vada pao,pao bhaji and tea, we had samosa and tea and it was  delicious, i have never tasted such good Indian food anywhere else outside India.
Rhine fall is a mini replica of Niagra Fall, its made in the same way.It is the biggest fall in EuropeThere is a ferry that takes us near that and if want to get down we can do so on the other side and then climb to the top to see the view and fall in its full glory.... Since I cant climb much, we sat in the ferry only and enjoyed it from there only.water fall are always a sight to behold..water falling in cascades.
I see that abroad people give much more importance to fitness, I saw there many old people but they were going everywhere and enjoying....whereas I feel tired so easily.

Nice pictures Renu.
It is true that people in the west are more health conscious, even after retirement, they never sit idle, they take up some job, and enjoy life to the fullest. Even couples in the age group of 75 and above are found travelling to different places, and making full use of their life here in this world.
Just when the west is realizing the benefits of going vegetarian, we on the other hand are going full speed towards destruction and ill health and eating all the junk food in the name of fast food and processed food.
Very few people are really committed in our country towards good health and exercise. When people abroad are drawn towards Yoga, we who are supposed to be pioneers in this field are turning our back and moving away from Yoga.
Instead of enjoying the present, we waste our time just cribbing about the past and worrying about the future. It is really sad.

Lovely pics! nice to know there are Indian restaurants at such faraway places.

Present generation of indians are conscious of fitness is what i feel, but unfortunately i think Indian gene constitution is such that we lose our energy level fast. See the chinese, west indians who are high on energy levels. No wonder they do so well in sports.

Rama: I lament it all the time that we are following west in all bad things..they work so hard, whereas we sleep late, they are so ethical and honest in day to day dealings, whereas we dont think twice before talking anything we are not eligible for...

Kparthsarthi: Yes sir, It was a beautiful place..I havent done justice to taht neither in words nor pictures.

Asha: yes Asha, now there are Indians everywhere...and people know us, respects us.
Its time we started being health conscious and gave due importance to excercise.

Chatty wren: Oh there I was huffing puffing, and my grandchild insisted that daadi push the pram:)
I have seen many countries and all countries have some beautiful places, only difference is switzerland is all beautiful.

SG: yes we cross a patch of Germany while going there, so its near Germany atleast:)

One day, I would like to visit this place, Renu!

For us, Indians, we have to get married, man or woman, have children, bring them and then literally retire. We are just after earning money and then 'taking care' of the family. We don't take care about our health until middle age. Then it is too late. Go for walks, if possible...that is all. Then crib about bad health. But awareness is slowly showing nowadays. I see many women during my morning walks, who come with their sports shoes on and wear salwar kameez for speed walks. This was unheard of earlier.

Nice pictures with all the info. When we see someone else more fit, realisation comes. We should be more fitness conscious as we are also moving around a lot. Indian food in a distant land gives so much joy.
