maid management

This year i have taken a few resolutions and trying to follow them diligently:). But u know sometimes ,some people bring out the worst side of yours. Just now i was reading someone's blog about maids and i also wrote all the big lofty ideals and blah blah...... But everyday it happens that.. i have two maids and one of them always irritates me like.......I have employed her recently only because she said she would come early and on time (her work is not upto my standard but I thought of compromising for i wanted somebody early.....And now she is coming late every second day :( I just dont know what to do...be angry....chuck her out or what......

The second one is for cooking--lunch and dinner.....and for that she sometimes turns up at 2 Pm for lunch and then prefers to do all the cooking at the same time :( If i ask her to come earlier, she is there at 9.30.

I am at my wits end how to synchronise both of them and get the best deal, because cook comes and the vessels are not cleaned, so she cant cook, any ideas about how to manage?

Hmmmm, u have a problem here.
the 1st maid....if u chuck her out will u get another one easily....coz after ur hospitilization....u cant afford not to have a maid.

or why dont u ask ur 2nd maid if she'll do all the work & then u can chuck out ur 1st maid & pay her salary also to this one. That way, even if she comes early, she can finish all the house work 1st & start making lunch a little later

yeah , that's what i was also thinking, but u know sometimes its better to have 2, just as the back up plan, so I am always in a dilemma.

OUch... maid story seems to be never ending saga, everywhere.. we too have that problem(at my grandparents house)... she has 2 maids(one for sweeping, mopping, vessels, washing clothes) and other for dusting, cleaning etc... and a part time cook who said he will come at 9,but comes at 10, 10.30 n is done by 3, and zooms off...(and he charges a BOMB... cooking is so-so, imagine eating roti n dosa made at 3, at 9 and 10pm...)...sigh... gramma keeps quiet cos they are quite old(70s) and so its better to have someone rather than none!!

oh, and thanks for dropping by!!:)

Aarti: That is the reason I always say that when I become old i would prefer to live somewhere like senior citizen's community or any such thing where all the houskeeping is being taken care and besides I can get the people from my age group also, I dont understand the mind block about old age homes.
When I saw the list of your favourite books, i wanted to read your blog as the two of them are my most fav---tuesdats with morrie and One more day:)

maid mgmt is the toughest of all trust me.... but what i suggest ask ur cook to do the vessels too.. usually I distribute like this only... solves two problem one that the cook cant complain that the vessels are not clean etc etc and two the other maid cant complain abt the quantity of vessels
